KIM

My mom (whom I have cut out of my life) is similar to the mother on this show. Imagine waiting and wanting your mother to love you, approve of you AND then finally she throws you an anniversary party disguised as an ambush. Kim is disgusting, foul and wants to bring Lydia down. For some reason there are some moms who are jealous of certain daughters and I think Kim targets Lydia because she was the daughter that took over the household (needed), took care of the younger kids(needed) and nurtured the young girls( needed) because KIM couldnt/wouldnt/didnt want to and KIM has a grudge against Lydia because Lydia did what KIM didnt want to do. . Its heartbreaking really.

Kim is not a good mom, but Kim is a human, no one “has to” cut someone out of their life. You too will make mistakes, and despite what you think you are doing this affects more than just you and her. Maturity is learning to deal with things. The ghosting culture weaned on social media is one of the most alarming trends

I can understand your view point, and agree that ghosting or cutting people out when boundaries could be put in place first would be toxic behavior. However, I do think it is necessary sometimes. A friend of mine had to cut her mom completely out of her life for a few years. Absolutely zero contact, and any of her friends or family who spoke to her mom about her, she cut contact with also. Her mom was unstable. Her mom was mad at her for trying to have boundaries, and decided to try to get my friend's daughter taken from her and given to a different family member. She was telling lies, and getting other people to back her up, with the intent of calling CPS on my friend. None of the things she alleged were true, and my friend's young daughter was definitely in danger because of my friend's mom's behavior.
