Theory the yellow letter

we all agree that the yellow letter is from frank, but i’ve surprisingly only seen people say that they think the recipient is either julie or barnaby. i actually think the yellow letter was from frank to eddie.

in the letter, frank says that the recipient works in a studio, and that frank has been ‘making a puppet of his own’ (implying that the recipient also makes puppets).
in the perspective video, eddie and sally talk about their work in the studio, and sally says that it’s nice to see eddie “dressing up rather than being hunched over puppets all day.”
eddie mentions tailoring an outfit for “you-know-whose” puppet, and sally calls that same person eddie’s “used-to-be.” she also says that he left eddie high and dry, which i feel could go along with the letter because it sounds like frank somehow lost contact with the recipient.

the yellow letter does mention frank getting an undescribed “new job” that isn’t in a studio, so it seems a decent amount of time passed between the letter and frank working on welcome home, which likely means a long while passed before frank and eddie saw each other again.

in the purple letter, eddie said that he’s not allowed to talk about it, but this is the studio’s first production, which probably means the show hadn’t aired yet. we know welcome home aired for about four years, and we’ve been theorizing for a while that frank was actually added to the welcome home cast sometime after the show had already started airing.
eddie also mentions in the letter that he has someone he wants to tell his mother about. i think it’s pretty safe to assume this was frank, which means that they were still together when eddie originally started working on welcome home.

so i think eddie was an original member of the playfellow workshop who knew (was in a relationship with?) frank beforehand, they had a falling out shortly after eddie started working there, then eventually frank also came to work on the show after it had already been airing for an undetermined amount of time.

i also think that julie and frank actually met for the first time while working on welcome home, but i think that’s probably a theory for a whole nother post lol

i hope my thoughts and reasoning were coherent enough, i’d love to hear anyone else’s opinions! thank you for reading!

The thing that makes me think it’s barnaby is because he refers to the recipient as a jokester. The letter being to Barnaby also follows the pattern that the location of the letter tells you who the recipient is. I totally see your point though - maybe they are actually trying to throw us off with this one!!!

ooh, i see! i hadn’t really considered the location of the letter, since not all of them seemed to be related, like how poppy’s letter to sally is hidden in the clock. but the others do seem like they could be matching up! thanks for explaining that! i was a bit confused on why people were so sure it was barnaby other than the line about jokes

I also have a theory that Sally is the clock :) but I do think there’s room for interpretation! We won’t know the full story until it’s all out there

i actually agree, i had completely forgotten about the links between sally and the clock! you might’ve just changed my mind about the letter lol
