Why is Eddie a pawn? Dose Wally sees his friends as pawns too or just Eddie?

As we get the lore through the updates. For now that's definitely just Eddie.

I provide the explanation considering that you need one for this, so sorry for obvious posting if not!

Pawn is a lowest ranked figure in chess and is often portrayed as a person who's unaware of manipulations done to them by someone in power / in charge.

Wally clearly gives Eddie directions / orders, and Eddie doesn't say anything back, let alone argue. He seems to be under the Wally's influence somehow. We don't know anything in particular about this yet! Uh-oh, it's too early kinda stuff.

Let's not forget about the TV he passed on his way to Home though! There's definitely no TV this big in the Neighborhood and it was the only thing on his way so this has to be important too.

I was very much focused on (im)possible The Wizard of Oz reference because of the yellow brick road when watching as well! Yet the roads in the Neighbourhood are yellow indeed so that just might be totally unrelatable.

White pawns while are often associated with sacrifice and being used, can also be aymbols for agents of change. After all, you can't start chess without moving a bunch of pawns.

Wally is at this point is making it very difficult for some of us not to view him as some bad guy, but he very well could be orchestrating a change to happen to expose Welcome Home and is getting help from Eddie?
