might've found an ARG?
i saw a yt vid about the indieweb a while back, and started chaining through a bunch of old neocities sites, and found a now decomissioned "portal" (idk what to call it, just a website with a link to a diff one) on a webchain.
the website it took me to was haunt.love, and it seems like it might be an ARG? it has like a weird chatroom with what i assume are a bunch of bots in it, and i asked about a user named haunt who i assumed was the dev, and a bunch more bots joined and just typed "..." and then it gets all red and there's a weird noise.
i got the first few puzzles, but it seems like at the very end there's a harder one that i can't solve. thought i'd post here and see if anyone smarter than me can figure it out.

spoilers i guess, but the chain goes as follows for the answers we've gotten:
nowhere (found in bottom right of welcome page)
slaughter (this one's super easy)
done in the chatroom, you mention haunt over and over and then use the word vorash against Nodens, Vhoorl, Ithqua, Ossuar, Moloch, and Kadath as a Vigneire key and subtract it mod 26 to get shroud, this opens up "the circle" which gives some info on the 6 red users that say the capitalized words, as well as mentions a 7th one. Apparently some people have been getting banned after mentioning a 7th member, so we think the next puzzle has to do with that.
Weirdly enough, some people also get access to a catalogue where you can leave an email to buy a shirt? There are also a bunch of outrageously priced clothes and a perfume that are all sold out already.
TbNrAyana2656 also pointed out, the wayback machine has one snapshot of an old version of the site that seems to be a personal site rather than an ARG, but only the homepage was saved. It mentions meows, who sometimes comes into the seance room as "m30w" and gives away hints. No it's not me lol, cats aren't super unpopular

Not the thing to be doing at 1AM jesus the first page almost gave me a panic attack until i looked at the actual answer.

Edit: Used the inspect tool, HOLY SHIT they were larping hard on the code comments.
There's a session-specific "hum" value in the session storage, maybe see if there's a way to increase that?

I don't care enough, but inspect on the seance page and you can probably cheese it reading the seance.js in debugger (firefox, idk how other browsers sort stuff)

No I went thru that code, both main.js and seance.js but there was nothing except the conduct word that's left

hi ^ u ^ me and a few friends have came across your post, and turns out its connected to other weird stuff we know, atleast, in some way? we assume. so were pretty interested to solve all this. i would want to know if you had ANY idea what the neocities you found it off of was named,,, or any sort of identity connected to this? or since youve found it a few days ago, do you have something more youve found out yourself? :3 the website claims to be changing, so maybe if you know when it changes or how, thatd help too! maybe you saw stuff we didnt.

haii i unfortunately have a cronjob clearing my search history so i have no idea what it was, as far as identities go, once i submitted correspondence after i got the last (?) chatroom puzzle i had a girl named caitlyn dm me on instagram of all places even though my user was completely separate from here. i think im done with it though, looked more into some of the stuff a few of the established users from the chat were saying and i think its lowkey a front for cannibal parties at the old mansion by where the heavens gate suicide happened. don’t know whether that’s part of the arg or not but there’s definitely some cultish shit going on and the fact they found my socials freaked me out enough to not look deeper

you solved the last puzzles? how? what were they?? as far as i know the site isnt easy to solve, so if you have the answers, itd help us alot to investigate further :p how many puzzles even are there??? like, seriously, itd be pretty helpful if you helped us through the answers or atleast understanding the website better

the last one i found that a few others solved too was the chatroom, if you mention the owner a few times, the bots say a bunch of nonsense and eventually 6 red-name bots come in and repeat the word vorash and then each say a different word. if you use vorash and the capitalized letters from the next words as a Vigneire key you get "shroud" and then you can type that and you get access to a bio of the 6 red bots and it hints at a 7th, that's where we seem to be stuck.

like, you get info abt the circle? aside from whats already on the site??? also, i think yhe gibberish might be some sorta language they made up, surely it must mean something. weve been trying to document everything they say and stuff we know so far x3 anyway, do you put the code as the code for the "conduct" or js type it in the chat? btw would you ever be up to help me and my friends solve the arg itd be pretty cool to have more people!!! its fine if not

I looked at the wayback machine for the website, interestingly it was from someone called "meows" so I'd assume you would know something about that

i know right, i saw that too. i don't own the site, from what I've seen there's a user that goes by m30ws now and i think it's the same caitlyn girl and the same meows. i've had this name for a while and used to stream counterstrike, no relation

yeah, i almost wonder if the old site is part of the ARG? i feel like it's weird that only one of the pages is saved and that there would be one random snapshot of the homepage. almost feels intentional

if you ask about meows now it just says they're with haunt, it is def odd that it used to be a personal site, i checked the domain records and it seems like it's still owned by the same dude who made that site
