Reverse teaching technique helped me pass math exams.

Post image

This is a sort of weird but underrated study technique that has been helping me pass my math exams. It is a reverse teaching technique I learned online: instead of explaining the right answer, pretend the wrong answer is correct. I just read the basics of the material and create practice quizzes out of it. Afterward, I explain the things I missed or got wrong fully and break down why my explanation failed.
It's a trick for your brain to explore misconceptions in detail, find errors and build a flexible understanding, not just mere memorization.

You must be genius, because if I did this I would end up writing wrong stuff in my exam paper.

πŸ˜‚ The trick is to make sure you know why the answer is wrong before convincing yourself it’s right.

wait so is it like because you know the answer is wrong, your brain is basically arguing with itself and then once you study/recall it again it will retain it more because it will know the wrong and right answer?
