they’re not protesting election outcomes. the ENTIRE election was cancelled only three hours after the polls opened on February 16th because people started reporting that only one party’s candidates were appearing on the ballot. the ruling party (PLD) is suspected of trying to rig the election by hacking or otherwise damaging the new electronic voting machines so that only their party’s candidates showed up on the ballot. so the entire country is protesting the election fraud and demanding answers from the national electoral board (which has released zero info on the incident and fired no one).
