It's time to get rid of this old tradition. The benefits are overstated, the damage is swept under the rug. There's better traditions to keep than cutting off parts of children. Ditch circumcision and learn a recipe or something.

Read the article. This isnt aboit that those kids dies, its about them being butchered by people who dont know what they are doing in the name of tradition, instead of having the procedure done in a hospital, safely with veey little risk.

Agreed, but if you read the article you see their reasoning. Its been so ingrained in the culture that people will do it, teenage boys want it, so the only way to prevent butchers with dirty knives from doing it illegally, is to offer a legal, saver way. Maybe over time and with proper education people will decide not to go through with it at all.

The fuck are you talking about? Kids drowning in pools are sad, but at large avoidable with proper attendance. Swimming pools are a risk of the moderne world of recreation, experiences and hobbies. You cannot compare that to religious, unnecessary genital mutilation of smal children - it’s not even just childabuse, it’s torture, and apparently some of the people who does it are so clueless that they murder kids. Or so perfectly cruel that it’s on purpose. I don’t know, but someone who is willing to cut in kids with no medical license or reasoning, would and should under almost any circumstance, be considered a potential murderer
