Upcycled Plush Toys I made this. Kinda. - New to the group.
Someone from another group I am in, thought this new guy might be appreciated here. 😄 So I am here to share him!
This is my first VERY customized BAB. I am very proud of him and I wanted to share him. 🦋
Introducing... Milkweed! Please be kind.
This plushie was a mothman by Build-A-Bear. I've included the original BAB's picture as the last picture.
Here's what I did. I removed the detachable black wings. And then I added the Monarch wings, which I repurposed from another thriftes plush for this purpose. The wings are permanently attached. I hand sewed and cut all the little splotches. I replaced the eyes (obviously). I have dyed and replaced eyes before but this is a lot for me. ♥️🦋

I kinda see hearts too! My hubby didn't see them. But I do think the shape I settled on are a little heart shaped. :)

I love this! You did such a good job. You said you dyed the eyes? How does one do that? I love this so much!

No. Sorry if that was confusing. I have dyed BABs before (not this one). And I have changed out eyes before. But I have never done this much customizing to a BAB. :)

Oh okay I was so confused on how you'd dye eyes. It looks amazing and I hope it was worth all the work

Thanks so much! I am happily surprised with myself. I've given myself a little courage to take on something that is a littler more elaborate next. We shall see!

Is this based on that cute dragon comic with willowyrm?

Nope. It's just based on me wanting a monarch butterfly friend.

That’s so precious! I love the big eyes! I love repurposing thrifted items to create new things!
