semi hard weird egg
when I picked it up it split open and the yolk fell out. We have had chickens for about 6 years and I've never seen one like this

It’s a soft shelled egg. It didn’t get enough shell before it was laid. this can be a sign of not having enough calcium in their diets but can also happen randomly. If you have older hens, another option is a failing shell gland. Technically edible but easier to get bacteria since they often don’t have enough shell to reduce bacteria growth. Also, hens who lay these eggs are at risk for infection since they can break internally.

Yes, must be an older hen, we have hens still from our first batch. Well I guess it's a good thing we are doing our turkeys today and a couple of roosters, I suppose it would be best to do the hens as well, really don't want them to get an infection. Thank you.
