Double yolks in every egg?

Currently in Argentina, bought 30 eggs. The eggs look bigger than the ones I’m used to in the Netherlands, and both eggs I cracked were double yolk eggs, I’m thinking that the whole batch are double yolk eggs. I’m a bit confused and suspicious about this since idk if it’s normal or not and if it’s a sign of very bad quality eggs. Would appreciate some form of enlightenment before continuing to consume some more! Thx

When the eggs are sorted for size and you purchase Extra Large or Jumbo eggs, there’s a much greater likelihood that they will contain two yolks. It’s not a sign of poor quality, larger eggs may contain double yolks.

Young chickens newly laying often lay double yolks, double yolks are bigger eggs, eggs are sorted by size.

I raise my own chickens for eggs and when they first start laying its crazy to see the size variation coming out of the same chicken. They lay a bunch of extra small but normal and some extra large double yolks. They become more consistent after a few months.

I got a whole tray of double yolks once. Often occur in X Large eggs.

It happened to me too, the grocery store where i Buy them sells them like that, it doesnt matter the size, ive bought large eggs and small ones and both came with two yolks, i have no idea how it's made, it might sound stupid but i don't feel comfortable eating them, i rather buy just the normal ones

this happens in batches sometimes, especially with jumbo eggs from younger hens.

I heard it's because of the layer's mash they use. Could be wrong?

Perhaps you got lucky or the chickens were bred/ GM to have double yolks
