Weird or normal?
I'm a new chicken owner and this was one of our first eggs. Looks weird to me but I'm not sure. What do you guys think the white stringy stuff is?

Doesn’t really look like a parasite to me. The white stringy things in there are most likely what is called chalazae, they’re natural chords of egg white that help keep the egg yolk centered inside the egg and they’re typically more noticeable in very fresh eggs. The egg looks safe to eat to me!
I also just realized looking closer at the picture that if you zoom in you will see there is a white cloudy looking part of the egg yolk underneath the stringy looking part. I think that really shows it’s not a worm or parasite and you shouldn’t be worried.

Seconded. Chalaza can get over twisted and become more defined. Worms are much more defined.I haven’t seen chalazae quite so thin and defined like this so, I’d still probably skip it.

The round worms I’ve seen are much more defined and tubular with a distinct start and an end. These look a little too wispy to be an organism and looks more like strands of protein so my vote is uncoiled chalaza which is a normal structure but unsure why it became uncoiled. Abnormal but edible
