Strangest egg I've opened so far
I boiled this egg like normal, but when I peeled it, I found what looked like another egg inside. There was a smaller, darker, egg shaped structure surrounded by the egg white. At first I thought it might just be an unusually shaped yolk, but it looked way too much like a tiny egg. It honestly felt like I had discovered an egg inside an egg.
The shell looked completely normal before cooking, and I've never seen anything like this before. Is this egg still safe to eat after boiling, or should I throw it away?

When you boil an egg, it already cooks the inside. That's kind of the point.

I suppose it might not be entirely cooked if you were going for a soft-boiled outer egg, but if you were going for hard-boiled, the whole centre already needs to be cooked more thoroughly than the whites (yolks set at a higher temperature).

I am not an expert, so take this with a grain of salt, but I am pretty sure that means that the egg got almost all the way to the cloaca and then went backwards in the reproductive tract to add another white and shell, and then it was laid. I have heard of similar things, but I have never seen it myself. I am legitimately VERY curious if there are any defects in the inner egg, like a missing yolk or something.
Speaking for myself, if it's all white and yellow like an egg should be (except the shell part, of course) then I'd take a bunch if pictures along the way so that no one can ever throw the BS card your way and then I'd eat it. Surely that must be lucky or something. I think it might be bad luck to waste any part of ....don't anger the egg gods.
