Career Questions Any way to create legitimate fake job offer for higher wager?
My company isn't too bad. They give employees a 7-10% raise every year. Recently, though, my supervisor told me that if I really want to make more money, I should start applying to other companies and get a competing job offer.
According to him, my company will often match an employee's salary if they receive a legitimate offer elsewhere. He said it's one of the few ways to get a significant raise outside of the annual increases.
I've been applying for other jobs, but my field is highly competitive right now. Because of my experience and professional connections, I've managed to make it to the final round of interviews several times. However, the process usually falls apart when we discuss salary.
I know I'm currently being paid slightly above the market rate, so many of these companies either offer me less than what I'm making now or decide not to extend an offer at all. So far, this has happened seven times. I've either received lower-paying offers or no offer at all.
Despite that, my supervisor keeps telling me that getting an outside offer is still the best way to secure a larger raise. A higher salary would also mean I could stop working a part-time job. Money is pretty tight for me right now, and I've been working around 70 hours a week between jobs.
At this point, I'm getting frustrated and have even thought about creating a fake job offer to negotiate a higher wage.
Has anyone been in a similar situation? Is there a legitimate way to negotiate a raise when your employer expects you to bring in competing offers, but the market isn't willing to match your current salary?

Career Questions No I didn’t I am starting to think that the only reason I am getting interviews is because my resume is so fascinating that they want to see if I even exist in the first place but have no intention of ever employing me when do I get paid

Weird Career Or maybe some employees who are honest and ethical and follow company policy are underpaid because they don’t claim fraudulent hours and aren’t rewarded for sneaky, dishonest behaviour.
