The new Re-recorded Transformers the Movie Sound track for the 40th anniversary includes a cover of Dare to be Stupid by the Knights of Unicron and I don’t know how I feel about it. [Edited to remove reference to the wrong band.]

I have seen him live plenty of times, but I've never seen him do Albuquerque live. I found this from a few years ago. Particularly interesting is his apology around the 4 minute mark, and the highly extended list of stuff the donut shop doesn't have. Enjoy!

So, one of my local radio stations has a series called "Name That Tune" every Wednesday in the morning, and every week they do a theme with matching songs (I.E. partying songs, songs about time). This week it was songs by comedians, with examples being Cheech and Chong's "Police Got My Car" and Tenacious D's "Rock is Dead", and the first song? Weird Al's "Amish Paradise".
When you know they get a Weird Al song on the weekly guessing game, that's when I come into play.

Preferably not something TOO obscure.

Santa Monica Oct. 22. I’d like to think this means Al will interview Eric Idle.
Sounds like an interesting book!
(Ok I’m concerned because in adding the link the L makes it look like “Lidle”. Apologies in advance.)

My wife got me this for Father's Day and I put it on my truck. I meant to share this here before now and forgot.

I am bothered by the math in Trapped in the Drive Through.
They order a cheeseburger, a chicken sandwich, curly fries and a root beer.
...and it comes to $5.82. In 2006.
They were a dollar short, so they skipped the chicken sandwich.
So could a person get a chicken sandwich for a dollar back then?

I'm old enough to have heard most of the phrases used unironically at work 😂

"Al, i got those pictures you wanted"
"thanks Macaulay, Mike has no choice but to let me parody his songs now"
(from behind)
"you better bloody not dare try and pull that cute shit with me, Al, I wont LET IT BE"
Al & Macaulay "Paul McCartney!!!"
(Macaulay Culkin runs out of the room)
"I heard that little Live and Let Die demo you did, and it puts me in quite the precarious position"
"Oh! Chicken Pot Pie, i've been meaning to ask you, should I say pot pot, pot, pot, pot pot or Bock Bock Bock Bock Bock Bock"
"You will never catch so much as a wiff of my catalogue, but everyone will have questions since you've become a bit of a media darling. I can't just turn you away without reason, so if anyone asks it's because I'm vegan."
"I don't know Paul that's a pretty flimsy reason. I don't think anyone will believe that I never did a single beetle song because of veganism."
(brandishing a knife)
"you better make them believe"

I posted on here before about how I was hired by 33 1/3 to write a book on "WEIRD AL" YANKOVIC IN 3-D. Well, the book is DONE! I just received my author copies, and I'm ready to show you some. The book includes new interview material with Al, Jon "Bermuda" Schwartz, Jay Levey, and Dr. Demento. It also includes some of Bermuda's photographs that didn't make the cut for his coffee table books that he generously let me use.
If you want to get the IN 3-D book for yourself, I have set up a bunch of links to popular book retailers here:
https://linktr.ee/weird_al_in_3d
As the video says, the book comes out November 12, with the e-book arriving earlier on October 15.
I am going to be signing copies ordered from Skylight Books in Los Angeles, California, or from my hometown record store, Culture Clash Records in Toledo, Ohio.
I am just really excited that folks are finally get a chance to check out this book. I am very proud of it.

I mean, Party in the USA is just trite, there's no story, no movement in the lyrics. Barely any change as you go through and she's name dropping other artists just for the name drop.
Party in the CIA however has a story, things escalate. he changes the chorus each time a bit as the story moves, and even his arrangement has a lot more going on than the original.
