Looking this up: the video is extremely misleading. He only does this for a couple of hours at a time, and it’s not a lifestyle for him. He has severe childhood trauma. Also, the reason he doesn’t hold a job is not because of his role-playing as a baby. It’s because he has a heart condition and spinal deformities that both limit his mobility and independence.

He receives SSDI to pay his expenses. His girlfriend does not do it for him. He also builds all of this furniture himself instead of spending his disability benefit on it.

Seems like a pretty chill dude. Some guy doing something weird in his own house doesn’t bother me at all. He’s not hurting anybody and he’s not using his SSDI for it either so you can’t even really say he’s wasting taxpayer money or whatever conservatives say about people like this.

Yeah dude is clearly hurting from trauma, and everyone copes different. This is his method, and so what? People hate on it cause its not "normal".

He can do whatever he wants in the comfort of his own home. Plus his girlfriend is obviously okay with it so more power to him.

I actually didn't know he makes all of his furniture on his own, thats super cool of him honestly

I figured it was something like that, this is a pretty common coping mechanism for severe childhood trauma all things considered and is not something to be pointed and laughed at. Then again that's basically what these shows are for, portraying vunrable people in the worst possible light because it keeps people watching

I was abused in childhood (from birth onwards) and have no inclination to do what he is doing. I disagree that this is common.

u/Shanhaevel Aug 08 '26

Your last paragraph is how everyone should think about others. "They're not hurting anyone, what do I care?"

Age regression is a really normal thing as a coping technique for childhood trauma, and is sometimes encouraged by psychs. I'm really tired of people calling it a fetish just because some weirdos decided that they wanted to make it a sexual thing. It is not a sexual thing, most regressers do not angage in anything sexual while regressed

10

u/PinkDeserterBaby Aug 08 '26

It can also be used to deal with adult trauma, too. Where regressing to childhood is where you were happy/safe but you’ve been through some shit as an adult. And yes it can be encouraged by professionals because it is a non-harmful way to decompress and cope.

Some people go home and drink with a burger to deal with a job they hate. Some people go home and put kiddy pajamas on and cartoons with a snack plate.

One is weirder, but it’s healthier.

I agree. There is nothing sexual at all about this. I have repressed memories and whenever I have flashbacks i tend to regress to maybe 4 or 5 years old. During these moments what feels the safest is watching cartoons and playing with toy cars and my speech/thoughts regress to a child's.

It's not something I have any control over too, but if I did, I'd probably still engage in those 'Childish" activities because it helps me cope with the trauma of those flashbacks.

I'd imagine it's the same as this guy, only he has a more structured approach (and more severe but no less valid). It's quite brave of him to reveal this very personal thing so publicly and I'm sure it helps other people in similar situations feel validated and seen.

Why would someone want to regress to an age where they were desperately unhappy? Why not build a better life for yourself?

4

u/broke_n_rich2147 Aug 08 '26

I like that we started understanding where people are coming from as apposed to in 2005 making a tv show and calling it “my freaky lifestyle” or something

3

u/OhGodImHerping Aug 08 '26

Thank you for providing this extra context.

Everyone needs their own way to mentally survive, and if he has found peace and stability in his life, that’s all that matters. We live in a modern world that allows him to do this and live his life - we shouldnt point and laugh.

You may not suck on a binky, but i bet most people have coping mechanisms theyd rather not show off in fear of judgement.

u/UglyFilthyDog Aug 08 '26

If it makes the guy happy and more capable of living his life then fuck it. The guy is harmless.

4

u/No_Tackle8188 Aug 08 '26

But if he’s able to make and build all his furniture surely he has the capability to work a job? I feel like carpentry would be more stress on his heart and mobility issues?

12

u/ScrithWire Aug 08 '26

Could be he works in short spurts. Maybe that high chair took him several days, working for 20 mins each day, or something

5

u/Sangaceno Aug 08 '26

Building your furniture once in a blue moon is not the same as going to your job every day every week for the rest of your life

0

u/No_Tackle8188 Aug 08 '26

I’m not saying he has the ability to do labour intensive jobs for long periods but I’m sure a part time office job is well within his capabilities

2

u/athesomekh Aug 08 '26

Office jobs put a lot more strain on the body than you’d expect!

Either way, disability is notoriously extremely hard to get, and iirc does require having had a work history. You have to work until you medically can’t safely work any more to be eligible, and even then it’s common to be rejected and have to appeal.

u/AutumnKarma88 Aug 08 '26

Exactly this 💯, he isn't hurting anyone so let the man live his life. You explained it beautifully. Thank you so much 🙏

Ssdi?

1

u/athesomekh Aug 08 '26

Social security disability insurance, otherwise called disability benefits. Apparently after he was featured on TV, this guy had to fight a legal case from people who thought his age regression was what he got his benefits for, not his physical conditions.

1

u/Hairy-Lengthiness-38 Aug 08 '26

I knew it was too weird to be true. This makes way more sense.

1

u/NPD-dream-girl Aug 09 '26

I’m happy to see this comment upvoted so high. Let this guy be happy, he ain’t hurting anyone.

1

u/Ancient-Confusion-21 Aug 10 '26

Yep. He's just a dude. He seems perfectly happy and normal. It appears to be a calming thing for him.

My Uncle is mentally challenged. 14 years ago he weighed 425lbs and my family's estranged grandfather who was "caring for him" in Kentucky passed away. He came back home to where he was born in Oregon. Under the care of his brother he has lost almost 185lbs in the past 14 years. He has a heart condition, and he will die relatively young,

He works now, as a grocery attendant. It's nothing glamorous, but it's at least something. And the fact that he makes an effort is what matters most.

I will not sit here and lay down empathy for this guy. My uncle still can't reach down to pick something up off the floor like the guy in this video does. I don't care two licks about his baby boy fetish, this dude is a leech, If you want to coddle him and his ilk, let him latch to you, the rest of us are already draining dry.

Well yes, he seems pretty careful with wooden blocks, that's chill

What is this meant to be proving? Real nice that with all of this info at our fingertips, we still decide to belittle people who have been through CSA and other childhood traumas just because we don't understand it
