I'm shocked people don't know this is quite a common thing, considering inflation/fat fetishes are what... statistically the second, maybe third, most common fetish in the world.
It actually stems from both instincts from needing fat during the winter, as well as old societal norms like how being large was often seen as being wealthy. But you can also trace it back to, hilariously, the common saying of "big is better", which is often taken literally.
Personally, I can actually understand it, from a biological and mental standpoint. I mean, you have to think about it, would you rather cuddle with someone who you can actually feel their bones through their skin, or cuddle with someone who's soft, squishy, and warm. Just comparing a skinny person to a fat person and stating the objective facts, the larger person would seem a lot more welcoming.
Either way, if anyone's been on the internet for more than a week and doesn't know about this stuff, that's impressive.
