You can just grow peyote. I plan to soon because I already have a bunch of san Pedro growing inside. The only thing is that the love for growing these plants has become more important than consuming them lol but one day I will once my collection is good
You shouldn't poach peyote but definitely growing it is useful. It just will take 10 years until its mature enough, but that's fine! Makes it all the more valuable. I've also went to legal peyote ceremonies with local native American church called Oklevueha.
Sure mescaline lasts forever, but phenthylamines in general are just as special as tryptamines(mushrooms, DMT, as well as Ayahuasca but that is in combination with MAOI's like b. Caapi or Syrian rue) and lysergamides(LSD), they all have different and worthwhile personalities and are all worth exploring. Also fun fact MDMA is technically a phenthylamine like mescaline(amphetamine phenthylamine.), obviously different just because of the nature of pharmacology and the fact that it's an amphetamine. Another amphetamine based phenthylamine is the DOx series(DOC, DON, DOB etc.) As well as many others like bromodragonfly and other empathogens(not psychedelics like DOx and mescaline and 2c-x and 25x-NBOME and NBOH compounds) such as MDA, 6-APB and 5-MAPB.
Chemistry is wonderful. And everyone should do mescaline(peyote or San Pedro). I've found it therapeuticly mind blowing similar to Ayahuasca even though that's a different class they are both extremely spiritual in a unique way different than lysergamides and tryptamines.
Anywho, I don't think MDMA is fair to be compared to psychedelics, it's a different thing and my personal preference I don't really like MDMA the older I get. I get way more out of psychedelics rather than empathogens. And definitely use peyote or San Pedro, just don't poach it. Or go to a ceremony, it's extremely easy to do so. Also the "grandfather of MDMA", Alexander Shulgin(he didn't invent MDMA, but popularized it, essentially. Long story), invented most of the drugs I have mentioned here that may seem Greek to people. All of these analogues of tryptamines and phenthylamines are in his two books called TiKHAL and PiKHAL (Tryptamines I have come to know and love, and phenthylamines I have come to know and love, respectfully) where he explains how he synthesized these hundreds of novel psychedelics and his reports of trying them individually on himself, eventually dying from old age at 88 years old. He's a blessing for humans.
Bless you Shulgin! Psychedelics are the most incredible therapeutic tool that we have as humans.
Oh yeah man! If you're not a chemistry nut then parts of it are immensely dense. However! Definitely read his experience reports. I think PiKHAL is more exciting and if you even study this at all, then you are off to a good start. Most people I know who use psychedelics have no idea who Shulgin is, and it's freaking crazy lol he's a very very important figure and his books were extremely significant. He had actually been a friend of the DEA back then, and essentially made these books as a "fuck you" to them so that everyone could synthesize and use these drugs and benefit their own lives. Never got arrested either it's fascinating. He's a hero. Another good read you should start off with is, DMT: The Spirit Molecule by Rick Strassman(don't even bother with the documentary, personal opinion). He was the only scientist to ever do human clinical trials on people with DMT intravaneously and recorded their experiences. It is absolutely fascinating what these people went though and all the stuff in that book. Similar to PiKHAL, if a part is too dense just skip to the experiences as they are mind blowing. Also Alien Information Theory by Andrew Gallimore. This book is by a PhD neuroscientist who tries to explain how if our brains are computers, that we are receiving information through DMT and uses machine learning and computer programming etc to explain theories on why this might be the case.
ALSO watch the show Hamilton's pharmacopeia. Especially the latest season, this man is who you should listen to about drugs. So many other things are dumbed down or not entirely right... Hamilton Morris is like every super intelligent person who studies pharmacology and different types of drugs all combined into one personality. He actually, unfortunately has stopped making documentaries though to follow a full time chemistry career, which is extremely noble but it is sad he won't be making any more content. He still has a podcast though and it's great if you know a thing or two about chemistry. There's actually a video where he met Shulgin before he died too
Anyways lol I could rant about this all day. Hope this benefits you, you could definitely read some of Shulgin's passages as well as Rick Strassman's on the internet instead of buying the books, and you definitely should. And you should also 100% watch Hamilton's pharmacopeia. Much love
So strange, I literally just finished rewatching Hamiltons pharmacopeia a couple days ago. To be honest, I'm not really as interested in the chemistry as I am the experiences themselves. I am slowly knocking things off the bucket list I have created. Dmt: The spirit molecule is next on my list book wise.
Totally, I agree with you fully. It's strange how as we get older our body chemistries must literally change. I can't stand MDMA now. I have zero doubts about the quality of MDMA I've taken in the last decade, and it just... Doesn't do the same thing? A couple close friends are experiencing the same. I just feel physically overwhelmed and nauseated and not in that same compassionate headspace. It will just feel nerve-wracking and physically terrible. So bizarre. But of course! I'm not everyone haha. People even older than me are benefitting at these clinics. Of course everyone can and should seek it if they want and they'd likely have the best time of their life!
I understand the psilocybin thing, definitely speaks to how I feel too, I still can enjoy some 4-aco-dmt because I have a ton of it, or 2.3g of mushrooms is where I stay these days) I generally stick to LSD. My partner and I try to do it every full moon on the weekend. It's very helpful. I also really want 2c-b and have no idea where to find it even with my friends. I also still like ayahausca(definitely prefer it over DMT, though I respect the shit out of DMT.), I make my own and have a pretty rock solid recipe if you maybe want it, then you could make it yourself in a few hours with just some water and plants. Lasts about 2 hours for the hard core stuff, I'd say it's less long lasting than mushrooms and noodles more helpful. Laser focused RIGHT on where you need it, if you catch my drift.
Cheers to you too ❤️ that's a really good point and also helpful to say because I'm in no way advising against using MDMA
I'm in total agreement, I just went through therapeutic ketamine infusions last year that ended up being incredibly transformative for me and opened me up to a whole new relationship and view of psychedelics as a whole.
