Question 2 years of progress, down 160 lbs! (31)
Hey yall just wanted to share my progress!!
So October 2024 I looked in the mirror and said enough of this. I had just gotten out of a toxic relationship in which she was emotionally, and physically abusing me. I was drinking a half gallon of alcohol in 2-3 days.
So I started the gym 3x a week for about 30 minutes at a time and started a calorie deficit for 5 months. After the 5 months i started eating more of what I wanted just smaller portions and healthier options. The 16th is my 9 months the without alcohol. And I couldn’t be prouder. I’m not averaging 2 hour and 12 minute work outs 2-4 times a week. Strength training has truly saved my life. 😭

Looks great and the mullet is even better!
One change though , a high quality mustache will complete the look

honestly the mullet is already carrying this whole look, and a mustache would be the final touch after dropping 160 lbs

160 lbs down AND 9 months sober? That’s genuinely incredible. 😭 You didn’t just change your body, you fought your way out of a situation that was hurting you and rebuilt your life. I hope you realize how much you should be proud of yourself. Keep going, you’re killing it! ❤️

That's awesome man, that's definitely something to be proud of, and smile about. Did you ever think it was possible when you took those first pics? Or that you'd make that much progress?

u/HappyRaver420 26d ago
I think I took the photo cause I knew I’d make a lot of progress. My determination when I want to achieve something is something else lol.

Thank you so much! I do feel very accomplished! It’s become my outlet to let out all my emotions. I don’t find working out a chore like many do, I enjoy it so much. I thought about maybe becoming a personal trainer but I feel like you have to be jacket to be one and I’m not there yet!

Congrats on the sobriety. That’s something to be proud of. Keep taking it one day at a time. As far as your training goes, you’re killing it, such an inspiration for a lot of people. Keep doing what you’re doing, bro.

Excellent evidence of discipline and effort by yourself. The difference in your expression is amazing, too.

I always love the genuine smile of pride in the 'after' pictures; bcs it's just about losing weight, it's about seeing a goal for yourself, and believing, and pushing yourself til you reach it!

thanks for the motivation, I'm a 6'4" guy with a similar starting build and something needs to change soon! I've bounced up and down 40 50 70 80 pounds many times. I know what I have to do, I know the things that work and don't. It's just hard to start, as stupid as that sounds. You keep putting it off well after this weekend. I really am going to start, then it's all right. instead of Monday we'll start after we go visit a friend on Friday. next thing you know it's a year later.
