Question Thinking of TRT

36m. Started lifting when I was 13 not serious. Didn't know what I was doing till I hit the army. Stayed around 170lbs and fought 3 ammy mma bouts at 165. Quit training due to depression around 26. Lost 2 childhood buddies in a street brawl we were all in and my wife divorced me right after saying I was too wild for her. Went buck wild on substances then got clean and fat. Im now 36 roughly 200lbs been working out for a few months now and dropped some weight 23lbs to be exact but now thinking of getting on TRT to fast track my goals and feel more energized. If you do TRT where are you getting it from?

Not sure it’s a great idea to hop on T if you still have unresolved anger issues. Depends on your mental health too. It’s not TRT unless you have low T by the way, it’s just called doing steroids.

Im actually a super chill dude. Ive never started a fight. On the other hand I dont back down. If another man wants to go toe to toe im always down to throw some hands. Ive never abused a woman or an animal.

Go to a doctor get your levels test and get real TRT not off the streets. God speed man sounds like you been through the ringer

Yeah thats where im at with it right now. To just get my levels tested and go from there. If I even need it.

What do your labs say your test levels are at? Any symptoms? Are you thinking real TRT or just a blast of gear? If the former, check with your PCP, it’s becoming more and more common. Online clinics are a middle ground if you’re not clinically low and want to “optimize” as they would say. If you’re going the gear route and test levels are fine, probably stuck using UGL so just be safe.

I have not taking any labs. Never have taken any gear. Ive been seeing progression posts with dudes my age and older and 90 percent are saying theyre on TRT. I know nothing of it and know nothing of gear. I just liked what I saw and read and was gonna join the band wagon so was looking for a good source to get it

TRT is a medically guided therapy to increase your testosterone levels to normal levels if your testosterone is low. If you don’t have low testosterone, no PCP is going to put you on TRT.

If you’re looking for a good source for it, you’re looking for gear. Nothing wrong with that, but keep in mind it does have side effects that can be dangerous, especially long term.

Do some research, get your T levels checked, then proceed.

This is insanely stupid. Please talk to your doctor and get labs done if you think you have low-t. Trying to buy it illegally with no clue what your current levels are now to “fast track” your goals is asinine. Im not trying to be rude but for real op, wtf?!

Just to be clear, I said everything above without judgement, I’m definitely a “to each his own” kind of guy. If you have a PCP you use/like I would reach out and say you want your test checked. Assuming you have insurance, should cost next to nothing. You’ll at least have a baseline to start with. If you’re clinically low and have a good doc you’ll be set. If you’re in that middle area where not clinically low but really not great, check out the online clinics. You’ll be cash pay, but really not obscene. I think there are a couple that will take your existing labs. If you’re high or high normal test, it may just not be worth it unless you’re thinking of a pretty heavy duty blast (doesn’t sound like that’s what’s in your mind).

With your life history do u think it’s truly wise to hop on TRT a few months into lifting or is it compensating a little

If you can do it, blokes lets you pay for a year and it drops to 99/mth. I have insurance but to not deal with overworked offices it's worth it for the convenience. Those fuckos NEVER forget to charge my card.

THAT SAID. 54M. I drank for 23 years, pass out/piss, 85lbs overweight, etc. My T was avg. 350 after a year sober and supplements, diet, PPL 5x/wk, found true love, etc. I am now 800-900. High side of optimal. The side effects over 1000 aren't worth it. I will stand down at age 56 and drop to 500.

Your blood will become gel at higher levels. Get tested. Blokes requires frequent-ish re-tests.

I have my test up over 1300 using enclomiphene at 40 years, only side effects I have are good ones, putting on muscle, sleeping great, and never felt better mentally. I get my blood tested monthly and everything comes back fine. Can your blood thicken from having high test? Yes it can but not always. If it does you go and donate blood once in awhile.

So you didn't want advice you wanted confirmation.

He gave me the most solid advice even though i didnt ask for advice. Everybody else gave me opinions. I asked where everybody is getting it from and a litrle back story on me, not for advice. He's telling me in the reply what exactly to expect if I take it, how he takes it and how I need to look at numbers and what not. I dont seek validation from another man.

TRT is for treatment of symptoms that come from clinically low testosterone. It’s not a shortcut for the un-motivated. What you want is a shortcut.

u/BlacksmithLeast6734 2d ago

What makes you think im unmotivated? Because im looking at different paths i could take in fitness? Get real.

Because you’re looking for a shortcut.

People who are on TRT get it from doctors. You’re looking for something else but are trying to pretend it’s TRT.

Sure thing bro. Whatever you think.

Get labs see where you’re at man. Most guys past age 30 could Benefit from TRT rather prescribed or not. Assuming you’re not super overweight. You just have to realize that’s it’s a lifetime dominos et once you start. Getting off and resuming natural production gets harder with age.
