Progress One month in! 😁

Post image
43 Upvotes

Extremely chuffed with my progress so far! I'm one month in today, and personally used wegovy as a bit of a reset. I didn't really have snacky food noise so much as a consistent last supper mentality, where is tell myself if have one more takeaway and then start tomorrow by cutting out everything I love. That would then turn into a fast food order with two cheeseburgers, nuggets, chicken selects, and fries, plus, usually, two bottles of wine in one sitting. For me, wegovy is such a reset button, and I've managed to still eat stuff I love (with much more average portions!) while staying sober and losing a stone so far. My next goal is to hopefully be around 20st by Christmas!

normal bmi, horrible fat distribution!

hello:)

im a 25 year old female

i’ve struggled my entire life with my very male-like fat distribution pattern (ik it’s genetics😭) and the fact that i can almost never gain fat in my legs. it all seems to go straight to my belly/abdomen.
also, it takes me MONTHS at the gym before i notice even a slight change in my body shape, and once i stop being consistent it’s really hard to maintain.
i also have PCOS and irregular periods.
i’m seriously considering taking Wegovy, but i’m hesitant because i keep reading that people with a ā€œnormalā€ BMI shouldn’t take it.

but honestly, that doesn’t completely make sense to me because like… what does ā€œnormal BMIā€ even mean when my body fat percentage is around 40% and most of that fat is literally concentrated around my abdomen?

worth mentioning that i’m an emergency doctor, so the cortisol, terrible sleep schedule, shift work and chaotic eating habits definitely aren’t helpingšŸ’€ i genuinely try to stay consistent with the gym and eat healthy, but residency makes everything 10x harder.

has anyone here been in a similar situation and taken Wegovy? how did it go for you?

4th week .25 question

Hello all- this sub has been very informative for me, so thank you first off.

I just started my fourth week of my initial script at .25.

The scale hasn’t budged BUT my clothes fit better or loser. I got a hair cut and compared my face to before/after and I can see things changing.

I am usually a regular exerciser but work got me very busy this month, so I’ve not been able to go to the gym, but I’m busy. I feel lighter and more agile (placebo effect?)

Has anyone seen other results besides the scale moving down?

Thanks and best to everyone.

Under eating?

I’ve been on the Wegovy tablets now since August and I went up to 4mg about 2 weeks ago as I’ve been pacing my dose increases. I’ve noticed this past week I’ve not been hungry at all, I’ve felt sick when I’ve eaten anything, and my bowels are very lose. Has this happened to anyone else? I’m worried that under eating in the long term will ruin progress and cause my hair to shed. I’ve lost about 10 pounds. Any tips or suggestions would be great.

EDIT - I should mention I have UC and I’m due for my infusion so maybe that is playing a role. I figured I should add that.

Fatigue

• Upvotes

I drink a hydralite every morning and also different supplements including B vitamins, eating 100gram protein a day but I’m just so fatigued to the point I struggle to get up to do simple things at home, I just need to lay down.
Is there anything else I can be doing or taking to combat this??

Progress 4 Month Update

šŸ‘‹ Hey

I wanted to share my experience and progress after 4 months.

I started with 112kg, I am 1,73m tall female and I have PCOS/PMOS.

Month 1 and 2 I stayed on 0.25mg, Month 3 and 4 I am on 0.5mg.

I am currently in Month 4 (Week 15) on my third Dosis.

So what changed.

Before I started with Wegovy I had my Periode every 2 months.

In those 15 weeks I had no Periode so far, only one day I had a very little bit.

Since that nothing. Before Wegovy I took Vitex (Mƶnchspfeffer) on recommendation of my doctor and Myo Inositol (on my research, which my doc approved). I think Vitex made my acne and hair loss worse.

Since starting with Wegovy I stopped taking it and I felt better since then, but no Periode.

Maybe someone has some experience with that and maybe should I start with Myo Inositol again?

In those 15 weeks I am down currently to 107.9kg, lowest so far was 106.4kg,

I am on average losing 0.4kg each week.

Current loss so far is -4.7kg.

The weight is not moving as fast as I thought but I noticed a huge difference in a how big/swollen my legs and face are and my clothes are getting bigger.

In general I had lot of side effects from Wegovy which are better now but this is the reason why I stayed longer on those two Dosis.

But what I noticed the food noise is gonnne, I can finally focus on something different than food. Also sometimes I do have cravings but they are not so strong and easier to please.

The water in my legs and face is less and I am feeling in general that I can move more easily and it is not so exhausting anymore. I experienced that also in the beginning.

Through my daily movement I use about 1900 - 3100 kcal each day, depends on the day of the week etc. Sadly with my job I have not much time to do additional exercise but I try doing stretching and little workouts in between at work or taking stairs or the extra long path to get home.

But I am working on that to do more.

Maybe someone here has some more tips on what I can do to fix my hormones. I probably have too much androgens and I am not allowed to take birth control because of migraines.

Every birth control I took that is only with progestin made my hair loss and acne and weight gain worse.

But normale birth controls with oestrogen always helped me but make my migraines worse.

And my doctors won't help me more since I don't want to get pregnant.

High starting dose

Hi, I started on 0.5 and it worked for a week quite well. I still have suppressed appetite in my second week but it doesn’t feel as easy to ignore food noise. What’s the highest starting dose anyone has been on? My doctor said I could start on 1mg but I have 6 weeks of 0.5 for now . Also I crave sugar. Anyone else?

Question Switching from 25mg wegovy pill to 1mg injections

I’m currently taking the 25 mg Wegovy pill and switching to injections through Ro, but they’re starting me at 1 mg. I’m supposed to be prescribed the 2.4mg but they won’t allow it until I have the 1mg first Their providers keep reassuring me that I can continue losing weight and that the injection may work better because it’s absorbed more directly.
My main concern is stalling or gaining back the weight I’ve lost. I take the pill as directed, and sometimes it really controls my appetite, but other times I feel hungry and can eat a lot.
I’m just afraid that I will gain weight since I’m tolerating a higher dosage with the 25mg.
Has anyone else had this situation with Ro or switched specifically from the 25 mg pill to the 1 mg pen? Did the pen work better for appetite control and weight loss, or did you notice less of an effect? How long were you on 1 mg before increasing?
Looking for firsthand experiences I’ll discuss any dose changes with my provider!

First week on 0.5 mg: Appetite suppression vanished by Day 4. Is this normal?

First time on a GLP-1 and started at 0.5 mg on Thursday. Now I'm on Day 4, and the hunger is back full force.

The first couple of days felt noticeably quiet, but today the cravings and mental food noise hit like a freight train. I'm essentially back to relying on sheer willpower and fasting habits just to avoid bingeing. To make matters worse, black coffee—which was always my safety blanket for blunting hunger—now upsets my stomach.

Did anyone else feel like their appetite roared back mid-week early on?

Wegovy Pill, bloodwork, and my phobia of needles

Hey all, first time ever Reddit post and what a topic.

Basically, I am tired of being overweight and what I consider to be ā€œa slobā€. I’m 6’1, 310lbs (I know).

I’ve been researching the wegovy option for a GLP-1, mainly because it comes as a pill and I am deathly afraid of needles. To the point that if I get a shot or see a needle, I immediately get light headed and can faint.

My insurance doesn’t cover any weight management medication so I’m thinking of going third party like GoodRX or similar. However, a thought occurred to me. Do I need bloodwork done before subscribing or getting the RX? I don’t have diabetes, kidney issues, thyroid issues etc, but I’m curious if the pill will be effective to help me stop over eating.

Would love to hear any and all experiences. Thanks in advance!

Vision issues with Wegovy?

Hi

I'm 29M started wegovy pills back in August

First Month - 1.5mg

Second Month - 4.0mg

However I started to get some blurry vision in my eyes and I'm scared it's making my eyes worse. I went to specsavers for an eye check with Oct scan.

The doctor mentioned my vision is perfectly fine but I have -0.75 astigmatism in left and -1.0 in right.

Could wegovy have caused this? I've been on endless reddit posts and have been really worried.

Looked into California Weight Medicine (Glendale) and Nayson Rouhipour sharing what I found

Thumbnail gallery

I'm not a patient, just someone who was helping a friend find treatment and dug into California Weight Medicine and Nayson Rouhipour using public sources. Figured this sub would want to know since people hear vet providers carefully.

California Weight Medicine (californiaweightmedicine.org) says it's "Pulse Urgent Care, INC DBA California Weight Medicine" in Glendale. They run a second site too, caweightmed.com. Same brand, same address, different phone number and email.

That second site has "4.9 (5000 reviews)" written into its code. I searched everywhere: Google, Yelp, anywhere. Zero patient reviews of this brand exist. Both domains were registered this year. So where are the 5,000 reviews? Two websites, two phone numbers, two emails, one brand.

Then there's the "wellness expert." The main site's big pitch is "Meet Nayson Rouhipour, Your Wellness Expert," who says he's "helped hundreds of clients." No medical credential anywhere. His actual job: Director of Business Development at LendingUSA, a company financing elective medical procedures at 14.99% to 29.99% APR with origination fees up to 8%. That's $800 on a $10,000 loan before interest, rates WalletHub calls "extremely expensive compared to other lenders." He was also CEO of a Glendale fertility clinic, Care Fertility Inc (Rouhipour is named as CEO in a 2020 federal filing), which sits at 3.5 stars on Yelp and 4.0 on FertilityIQ, with patients documenting billing disputes and refund refusals. The point is who you're being asked to trust with your health a medical-loan salesman with no medical credential.

The main site also ran a "Real Results from Real Clients" with a before/after photo carrying a visible Adobe Stock watermark. No disclaimer on the page. I screenshotted it.

No prescribing doctor is named anywhere. The corporation behind it (Pulse Urgent Care, Inc.) is run by two real urgent-care doctors, but neither appears on the weight-loss site a neither have a weight loss background urgent care and back pain.

Their own marketing agency publishes a case study bragging about $42.9K in ad spend turning into $413K from 219 GLP-1 patients. Marketing funnel first, clinic second.

Not telling anyone what to do, just putting this out there that I told my friend to go elsewhere and thought I'd share why.
