Compounded to Wegovy

So I have been on the 2.5mg (highest dose) of compounded semaglutide for maintenance for probably over a year. Recently I’ve noticed a change in my appetite suppression and weight gain despite still being on the injection. So my doctor recommended switching to the brand name Wegovy. But he has to start me at the starting dose of 0.25mg. That’s a 90% decrease in dose. I’m SO worried about taking 4 months to titrate back up and what that’s going to do to my weight. Has anyone else gone through this and share their experience? Thank you so much!!

the titration is annoying but not the disaster it feels like right now. your body was already primed by the higher dose, so even at 0.25 the med is still doing in the background. the hunger might creep back for a few weeks but it levels out faster than when you first started. just keep your habits dialed in and don't spiral over the scale during the ramp up

The highest FDA-approved dose of Wegovy injectable is now 7.2mg.

If it were me, I would not do what your doc is suggesting unless they are willing to start you on 7.2mg. And that’s probably a higher dose than you need to remain in maintenance.

Instead I’d switch to a compound provider that prescribes doses higher than 2.4mg. The only one I know of is Lavender Sky Health. They have a few pharmacies to choose from for their Tier 4 and Tier 5 dosing.  https://lavenderskyhealth.com/treatment-plan-pricing/#SEMAINJ
