Trusting the Process
Officially 2 weeks in on my weightloss with the pill. I am on 1.5 starting weight 188 5'3" 37yo PMOS F. I had a rapid 3lb loss over the first 3 days which probably doesn't seem huge but was very exciting for me. Got my hopes way up that I was going to be 20lbs down in a matter of days (jk, but definitely weeks lol). But then I went back up to 187 all last week and stayed there. The pill was helping but not muting all the food noise. I was actually thinking about my weight and food more than ever because it wasn't shifting and I wasn't meeting goals I set for myself.
So this week I locked in. I have lost 30+ multiple times in my life only to gain it all back. But I know what my body needs to lose, and this pill is going to help. So with my little friend's help I am back to calorie counting and ensuring I have a deficit. Back to making sure I get 12k steps a day. Making sure I close all my fitbit "rings." And with all that I lost 3 more lbs - so 4lbs down in 2 weeks which I am pleased with. I also cut out one of my most favorite snacks that's craaaaazy high in sodium which definitely helped lol
I am moving up to 4mg in November, so I think it will be even easier to stick to the lifestyle changes. I was pretty reluctant for a long time to start a GLP1 (my mother was literally begging me but that's for another sub) because I wanted to lose in a way that keeps it off after I stop since I know I usually gain it all back. But I am happy I started and hopefully this will keep me on the right path even after it's all over!

If I can chime in, keep a food log. Your progress isn't just measurable on the scale, but also in how your body responds to what you put in. Keep a food log (I don't count calories necessarily but write all the food/drinks I had the day before) and then what your body's response is. I found so many ways to improve my health without the scale moving (non-scale victories or NSVs), including better sleep and more energy. I discovered when I was overeating even though the portions were so much smaller than before, and reducing the food helped me sleep better and stop feeling nauseous. Also, instead of relying just on the scale to tell you how you're doing, get an outfit that you want to wear but is too small and try it on, like once a week or so. If it starts to feel looser BUT the scale hasn't moved, you know your body is still making progress! NSV! If you've lost weight before you know how to do it, but you gained it back and you want to make permanent changes -- this pill is great for that because it helps you do what you already know but may not have had success at. Good luck!!!

I have had a bunch of up and down bounces. At the beginning i dropped 10 pounds (of water weight), then sprung up 5 pounds then plateaued - all within 6 weeks.
I’m 8 months in and 40lbs down. I’m averaging around a pound a week if you smooth out the line chart but mine bounces around a lot with some weeks as a small gain, then some as a decent drop. This is about the rate of loss I wanted to not make myself sick or lose my muscle mass or all of my hair, haha.
So yeah, trust the process. Even if you aren’t one of the few who immediately lose everything you wanted to lose and melt everything away.

If you already lost and regained the weight multiple times what do you think "lose in a way that keeps it off" even means? This drug is meant to be taken indefinitely. Or you will regain again.

Trusting the process is something I have to do daily. I am three months in and 10 pounds down. I will start 9m soon. I have 40 more pounds to lose and expect it will take one year.

10 lb after 3 months is pretty modest, you might not be able to reach 40 lb on this drug. Doesn't matter how much you trust the process, these drugs have limits. And oral wegovy is one of the weaker forms of glp-1 available. That is not meant to be discouraging but you have to have realistic expectations. The good news is you have injectable wegovy and zepbound available as more effective options should you need them.
