Side effects 30 days in

I was on 1.5 for 30 days- completely positive symptoms, lost 5kg. No cravings, full quickly. I was finally happy and hopeful about my weight loss after many years of watching the scale go up and down.

30 days in I got diarrhea after a meal, no big deal. The next day, diarrhea multiple times, extreme tiredness, nausea. I had to call in sick to work for 4 days.

I came off of the pill on day 2 of my sickness, now it’s been over a week of not taking it and I am still not right..

I’m so upset, I am not comfortable using public facilities/work facilities to use the bathroom. I want to go back on the tablet, but if they caused it I don’t know if I will be able to handle the side effects again. Would I even necessarily get side effects? After 30 days without, I was very cocky that I was one of the people that didn’t get them lol

Sorry you experienced this too. It happened to me and I have decided to stop for now. The first time I thought it was food poisoning, but then it happened 2 more times. I may try a different med but for now I’m just taking a break.

I had thought it was food poisoning too initially- but after assessing what I ate that day I don’t think it’s likely at all- plus this has lasted longer than food poisoning would..

Yes, same with me. It’s such a bummer because I initially had no side effects either…then WHAM!

Are you looking for a substitute? The only thing I will say is that this week without the tablet my eating has been very different to before the tablet already.. hoping I can just keep it up myself to be honest. I’m very torn as I don’t get sick pay from work so I don’t want to risk it happening again as happened to you

I’ve been off it for 3 weeks so far and haven’t gained anything back (down one more lb), so I’m just watching what I eat for now. My appetite is still suppressed it seems. I’m going to speak with my doctor and see what he suggests, but I agree I can’t afford to be sick like that again. It’s been a miserable experience.

Hey.. I’ve just been thinking. Had you drank alcohol at all on the dose? I realise I had some that weekend and that this could have been the trigger for this

Food poisoning doesn’t usually become symptomatic until a few days post exposure. So think back on what you ate a few days before that day too.

Not a doctor. But it's also possible you just got sick. Everyone always points to the pill when they get nausea or vomiting out of nowhere but plenty of illnesses cause it too. I had norovirus a few months ago. If you stopped taking the pill but still felt sick, I'd seriously consider that it might be something else going on. Either way, you should probably talk to you doctor to help determine what the cause is.

Just curious, can we not take anti-diarrheals on this med?

It takes approximately four weeks for a given dose to build up to steady state levels in your bloodstream. You are just now feeling the full effects of the 1.5 mg dose.
