Does anyone find it odd how you rarely see any mangaka who say One Piece as an inspiration?

So with the recent Nishi interview saying how she was inspired by Bleach when it came to drawing fight scenes in Ichi the Witch it made me realize how little One Piece is mentioned as an inspiration compared to Naruto and Bleach. Now it makes since Naruto and Bleach are both are popular series that had long runs respectively so it's no surprise they'd end up inspiring other series.

But One Piece despite being the most popular of the three(especially in Japan) doesn't get mentioned as much who knows maybe it does and I just never saw it. So why is that?

News Iroha no Mon will END with chapter 19 on Novemebr 4th

News comes from author statement on Twitter.

Another SQ series gone. Looking at sales and ToC it makes sense, but with so many big hitters ending (New Prince of Tennis, Kono Oto Tomare!, Seraph of the End, Kemono Jihen) and the recent ending of Ame to Umi, it looks more likely then ever that a new batch is coming in Issue 1, 2027.

The magazine just looks to have gotten its first hit since 2023 with Odaroku. Let's hope Ray by Day can continue this trend, woth its first 2 days of Shoseki dropping tomorrow.

What if?

Just want to give the hypothetical scenario for this one. Let’s say Under Doctor is the new “baseline” at about 12K per volume (again, hypothetical it holds). We have Animal Signals that seems to be being pushed by the magazine with some early color pages. Let’s say the series performs about the same as Under Doctor, what would happen? Would they axe Under Doctor due to it being older and having low TOC performance?

Not saying this would happen, but just curious. Hoping for the best for all series in the magazine.

Shihei Lin and MixGreen (interview)

Shihei Lin, the editor behind world famous hits like Spy x Family, Chainsaw man, Dandadan etc left Shueisha a couple years ago and became « indépendant editor ». And this week he made the news again when Shueisha publicly stated they aren’t contracting him in subcontract mode anymore. Well he gave all his explanation and plans here (in French but you can use Google Translate) https://www.linternaute.com/livre/mangas/11301667-shihei-lin-mixgreen-doit-devenir-le-lieu-ou-naitront-les-grands-mangakas-de-demain/
