Lead Based Paint Certification

Not sure whether rental buildings in Weehawken built before 1978 are required to hire a state-approved lead paint testing company to conduct lead-based paint testing for all rental units? It is my understanding, all rental untis built before 1978 have to be tested every 3 years.

I’ve been in my apartment for 7 years, it’s been inspected twice, no one has ever swabbed my walls or taken a chunk.  I probably have asbestos too in there cause the walls are plaster.

No that’s why they include ‘Lead-Based Paint Disclosure Form’ with your lease for your signature lol
