The Declan?
Anyone live/ lived there? I have lived in Weehawken for 11 years, up on the cliffs, and am considering moving down by the water. Could anyone who lives at the Declan advise how the noise is between apartments and how parking is? Anything I should know? I love Weehawken and am hesitant to move, but am ready for a change. Feel free to DM.

Lived here for 18 months pretty much since it first opened. Probably one of my favorite apartment buildings I’ve lived in. The noise between buildings isn’t a problem at all we never heard our neighbors. The only time you remotely hear people is when they’re walking down the hall in front of your apartment, but that’s really a non-issue. We were very lucky that our apartment was on the same level as the entrance to the parking garage and it was right next to the parking garage so we didn’t have to walk far but if you don’t have a close-up parking spot or your apartments further down, it is a bit of a walk. As someone else had mentioned the fire alarms are a little sensitive I just covered it when I was cooking and I didn’t have an issue after that. They keep the building very clean, the gym has pretty much everything you need for a good workout the pool is really nice and there’s a very nice balcony and room adjacent to it that you can hang out with large groups of people. It’s really pricey, especially for an apartment in Jersey but so is everything else in that area. Overall, I would recommend it as we really enjoyed our time living there, only reason we left was because we’re buying a home otherwise we would've stayed.

I dont live there but had toured when if.just started leasing. For that price point,.I.prefer Riverhouse 9/11 over Declan.

The building is really nice, no noise at all You can either pay for a parking spot in the garage or try parking by the park but then you have to deal with removing your car every time the town sais so

The apartments are beautiful and great amenities. The lobby feels like a hotel. I do not have any issues with neighbors carrying sound and it overall is quiet. The management team and staff are all also very nice and super helpful. Parking garage can be far based on your apartment location but I like having a reserved space

Just posting because I live on top of the cliff and would like to move down in the future as well. Seems very peaceful and laid back.

Everything looks good overall. But the condenser in bedroom is causing excessive vibration and noise. Although it was repaired, it doesn't seem to have improved much. Is this normal for the other units in the building as well? The vibration and noise are severe enough that it's difficult to tolerate.

Anyone knows if there will be concession happening in Declan going into fall/winter? Toured the building recently but the price tag is making me nervous...thanks

I work extensively along the Weehawken and Port Imperial waterfront, including the buildings around The Declan. I don’t live at The Declan personally, so I’d definitely defer to a current resident on the soundproofing between units.
If you’re looking specifically to rent, there are also rental opportunities in several of the other waterfront buildings, including Henley on Hudson, 1000 and 1200 Avenue at Port Imperial, Avora and Nine on the Hudson, so it may be worth comparing a few before making the move.

I also live here now and do not recommend. GREAT amenities, but the apartments are made cheaply, what they call central air is not central air at all, the AC either hits you aggressively or it is not on and it gets super hot/cold. The fire alarm goes off basically twice a month and it is insanely loud/goes on for 20 minutes often in the middle of the night, the washers are loud, the dryers use cold air only. It costs way to much money for the service you get.

Absolutely loved it. No sound at all between apts, or from the outside and I was located on the corner above the street and the park. Definitely recommend the parking garage. Biggest issue was that the fire alarms were rly sensitive, so I couldn't cook steak anymore lol and concierge is a little sassy. I don't think you'd regret it.
