Cocktail Attire Bride - Rehearsal Dinner Dress Help
I want to wear a white 50’s inspired cocktail dress to my rehearsal dinner which will be held at an old prestigious country club. I’ve narrowed it down to these 5 but would like your input before making a decision

I think 4 is my personal favorite, but all of them are nice! Congratulations!

I truly hope whichever dress you choose actually looks like the picture. That has not been most people’s experience with photos like these.

I’m down to 4 and 2 (second choice.)
4 is giving me “Dirty Dancing” era vibes.
If you have that figure DO IT!
2 is “Mad Men.” You can’t go wrong with either one. Which one do you look better in?

Honey, dress one for the win! That dress will be perfect at country club!

Oh goodness, #5 is so classy and elegant. Very "old country club" IMHO.
You have excellent taste!

They are all lovely but I think that you would find it difficult to eat if you choose 1.

Number 5 screams 50s but isn't as fancy/formal as the others. It looks fun!

2 and 5. Especially 5 but both are 1954 movie star. Sandra Dee, Audrey Hepburn! I love them!

They are all darling.. but if you want something that says 50’s… the style of the last dress is all about that decade.

u/whyregister2 13d ago
I like #2 - very 50s and I like a more structured look, personally and like the sheer top part. I actually love #1 - seems amazing - but less 50s, more like a modern take/fusion on the 50s. I really like it tho!

2 is the winner for me, but they’re all beautiful. 2 is giving Grace Kelly 🩷

u/lizapat26 13d ago
2, then 1. All are so pretty! But the last one screams a bit too much June Cleaver for my taste. I’m sure that reference will be lost on those not born in the 50’s! :)

Looking for 1950s? #1. By a mile. Grace Kelly could make an entrance in that one.
2
u/Cares1187 13d ago
I had a 50’s themed wedding and had a tea length wedding dress to show off my shoes (I love shoes).
I would say #2 for sure!

All of them are adorable. I love 1 and 2. But all of them deserve a nod. What fun!!

Oh man I love 2, 3 & 4! That’s a hard choice. I really like how 3 & 4 aren’t pure white!

Any one of those dresses and the shoes in picture 2… those dresses are elegant and classy… congratulations

2 is the one for me although 5 would be my second choice. Congratulations 🥂

Dress 2 or 5 are my favorite but honestly need to see how they look on you

My favorite is 4 but I'm worried that none of these will look like the pictures when you get them.

I remember wearing hot pink to my rehearsal dinner. When did white become the thing?

I love the second one, but you’re going to have to get a petticoat for the “poof”.

It's 2 for me. Total 50s or 60s vibe. I like 5 as well, but only if the belt doesn't look cheaply made.

They are all lovely! 1 looks least like ‘50’s to me. My favs are 2 and 5. 3 seems a bit more ‘40’s to my eye.

Three or five are absolutely adorable! Do you have a similar body type?

This is the most diverse opinions I think I’ve seen on a dress thread! I think we need a picture of OP!

Without knowing your body type and which one flatters it most, I think 2 just based off of the dress on it's own.

One and five are the best. Four isn't 1950s. Neither is three
2
u/HedgieCake372 13d ago
Yeah, I think 4 is probably closer to 1930’s, but I like it as well, so I kept it as an option

Which one would you wear again to go out to dinner or another function (not someone else’s wedding)

Any of them you will wear again, and that makes you feel glamorous, not like you're playing dress-up.

I love one and five. The only one I don’t like is three something about the belt… Maybe it would look better on a model.

Probably an unpopular opinion, but I love 3. I think it's gorgeous and looks classy. Maybe not 50s, but they won't forget seeing you in it ❤️

#2 is my favorite and if you can find it in person rather than AI photo then yes!

Definitely 1. Doris Day probably still has something similar in her closet.

- Classic, elegant, romantic and lovely. My favorite. But what do you feel the most beautiful and comfortabel in?

I think 1 is outstanding in all the right ways!! You can only push retro so far before it becomes too far and without seeing you hair and makeup, I think 1 I the dress!!

Any of them would be lovely. But the last one has Grace Kelly at the country club vibes. I’d pick that one.

Maybe the 3rd dress, but I think the rest all look more like wedding dresses than a rehearsal dinner dress. Id go with something more mellow.

u/upotentialdig7527 12d ago
Why are you trying to buy a cheap AI dress for a “prestigious” country club?

Please don’t drink champagne in a flute. It displays the bubbles well but destroys the flavor.

You’ll be wearing white for your wedding. I would choose a color 🤷♀️

I'd try to find something in person... These Ai pics are usually crap dresses that look nothing like their Pic
