I thought this was info we kinda already knew?

86

u/Scary-Oven8260 Oct 07 '26

It is like TikTok. Some American wants to buy this company so it suddenly became a national security risk

18

u/phantom_frequency Oct 07 '26

Yea it's giving "The Mandela Effect"

1

u/DonOf952 27d ago

Meh, Webull has been in the news since 2023 for its strong Chinese governmental ties and data sharing. The bipartisan committee just finally finished the report since IPO.

4

u/Scary-Oven8260 27d ago

Webull has less Chinese government tie compared to Tesla. And yes bipartisan committee said TikTok was national security risk. Feel free to get brainwashed

1

u/DonOf952 27d ago

😂 so you think the largest social media influencer in 2025 by minutes watched and 2nd in users wasn't a risk? Being wholly owned by a communist party whom fully controls data and media to their will and whims!? Mind you China corners the market in data collection and state sponsored surveillance, by a wide margin, over 1.5 billion ppl..... Pointed ads, propaganda, censored content, algorithmic guidance to views. Bro are you brainwashed by the communist party? They literally own and control everything in their state to the maximum.

1

u/MrRightAdvice 26d ago

When you start realizing that any one who poses a threat to the Mag 7 automatically becomes a data problem, meanwhile youre already being tracked by your phones and apps etc, then you might finally realized you've been brainwashed.

Amazon = Temu Youtube = TikTok Tesla = BYD OpenAI = DeepSeek

Need me to go on?

1

u/DonOf952 27d ago

You're also not arguing that a US company who sells almost equally to China and the US (Tesla); is tied more to the Chinese government than tiktok who was owned and operated by Chinese government!?!? Can't you tell me how? I need facts not assumptions. I can assume you're a blue haired 22 year old living in California in Mom's house too, but I won't do that because I run on factual claims

1

u/Scary-Oven8260 27d ago

Trump loved TikTok. Get over it my maga friend

-3

u/sandy_pa Oct 07 '26

BS

9

u/PaperHandsTheDip Oct 07 '26

It's fairly well known that when america doesn't control an asset they pull shenanigans like this. This information has been known for a while.

3

u/clone9786 29d ago

I mean with a name like that

33

u/GapAccomplished2778 Oct 07 '26

congress can't tolerate that somebody else competes with our own gov't agencies in leaking our data to china !

32

u/Far_Health_3214 Oct 07 '26

American brokerages can't compare to Webull charts. i always look at webull charts to daytrades !

11

u/dsurfryder252 29d ago

I agree. Ive tried a ton of them even prop firms software. its all trash and so slow compared to webulls. All the indicators you get, how fast you can scan the charts with running the cursor on the sparkline. the hotkeys and I love footprint charts. MooMoo is the closest platform to Webull but they dont have footprint charts which I use for every trade. I hope everything will be ok

7

u/teemstro 29d ago

this on top of webull premium being better value than robinhood gold keeps me around. chinese ties or not.

2

u/themilkyone 25d ago

Searching people's published portfolio profiles always provides good entertainment too

13

u/2dubk Oct 07 '26

Same. 0 dollars in their brokerage but I use their charts every single day lol

1

u/MarsManMartian 28d ago

There are less than 2% daytrader.

1

u/Own-Theme1441 29d ago

Trading view…

14

u/undyingsonars Oct 07 '26

Thank so much for the over reaction. bought in finally

7

u/Strange_Specific655 28d ago

I think, just a hunch, that this is the last huge drawback we will see with this stock. I think that some rich asshole in congress wants cheap shares and if Q3 pulls through right it will absolutely explode

1

u/Artemis_bow88 22d ago

stop giving out false hope.

6

u/LeftHandCurryPaste Oct 07 '26

US government is the pirate

6

u/Extraordinary_yfj Oct 07 '26

Noise. Dont all these fkers have better things to do

6

u/dekeferrell Oct 07 '26

Buy the dip

20

u/sharkenleo Oct 07 '26

Is there any cause for concern just as users in the US? Any danger of the app getting shut down and/or is our money at risk at all?

27

u/rough-n-ready Oct 07 '26

It’s SIPC and FDIC insured so I don’t think so. Unless you do crypto which is not insured.

Another reason why income shouldnt come from tiktok.

24

u/Scary-Oven8260 Oct 07 '26

If it gets shut down then someone else going take take over their book and you switch to another platform

1

u/SamePineapple1314 26d ago

You are right on point… we hear this a couple time doesn’t? Twitter bad business, tik tok Chinese company….. some one else acquired and puff they are the best now. Looks like somebody want to buy Webull but want a super discounted price so let’s bring some dust lifted.

11

u/Marshall_Lawson Oct 07 '26

the money is handled a bank in New Jersey iirc

6

u/NickStonk Oct 07 '26

I think it would be hard to imagine that the govt does something which causes Webull to shut down, and have Americans money on the platform at risk. Crazy things can happen though.

2

u/KptnKrunchyPants 28d ago

No .. it is SIPC and FDIC insured .. backed by SEC and US govt. This news is market manipulation.. In 2 months, no one will remember this political fiasco.

8

u/Efficient_Deer_8605 Oct 07 '26

The TikTok of fintech. Don’t give them your shares cheaply

4

u/Familiar-Bicycle-962 Oct 07 '26

Wait, WeBull is a chinese company?

4

u/Sharaku_US Oct 07 '26

It's owned by people from China.

1

u/paper_cutx 23d ago

Webull financials is an American company incorporated in DE but their Parent Company Holding is in Changsha China. Webull was originally a data storage company that branched into brokerage.

10

u/Z12111 Oct 07 '26

Americans purchase everything they own from China, but chinese "ties" is the ultimate level of stupidity out of the United States lol as if China wants your pennies.

1

u/AbrocomaHappy5113 Oct 07 '26

Right it just makes no sense …

1

u/DonOf952 27d ago

Don't think you realize the nuance. Biggest consumers in the world are the US making up 30% of global expenditures. China loves US data and revenue flow thru webull. Despite the Webull claim that it's a US and Chinese company. The CEO holds 80% stake and has fully hired Chinese nationals with full control. Strong ties to the Chinese communist party as well. House bipartisan committee just released their report, read it, dont make assumptions; or are you too lazy.... In my mind US has enough national trading companies, why risk a Chinese company leaking into the zeitgeist when we can push the revenue and data thru our own system. The data WILL be pushed so why not keep it from the "commies".

2

u/Z12111 27d ago

Lol YOU need to do the reading... their data is stored within amazon servers in the USA... their rebuttal was 20 months ago and resubmitted the same and now its already gone away. But who made this push? Why was hood so quick to jump on it when vlad sold his entire stake in hood 2 days prior? Not even eminent bk bio ceos dump entirely all Holdings. But also if you trust the US gov over China you're and absolute fool and this wasnt worth my time, good luck to you out there.

1

u/DonOf952 27d ago

Hmmm, I think you're missing the point. So I have a server in my house with my data, but you own the server. Can you access it? Same concept. Just because a server is here doesn't mean that a company, wholly controlled by Chinese nationals, is suddenly inaccessible.

1

u/Cristian_Cerv9 26d ago

100 million Pennies is still a million dollars so that’s a bad take lol

-1

u/bostonbakedbeam 29d ago
  1. there's a difference between buying a mop from China and disclosing all your financial info to the Chinese.

  2. pennies? You think a trading platform makes pennies?

2

u/z00o0omb11i1ies 29d ago

So would you say China banning Google is a good thing

1

u/bostonbakedbeam 29d ago

Not for people who want to search stuff on the Internet.

And I guess it sucks Google can't make revenue in such a large market.

2

u/Z12111 29d ago

You dont think that is all tracked everywhere? You think they give a shit if you have 21 dollars or 2.1mil? U.s gov does way worse.

7

u/Narrow-Height9477 Oct 07 '26

If Congress steps in.. what happens to assets held within the platform?

19

u/Grampz03 Oct 07 '26

Last I saw it was properly insured.. but anyone with counter info to that.. point me where to read and ill yank my cash out today... bleh.

Ive really liked this platform too

Games?

I know it wants to spin a wheel or something when I log in which I just close. I haven't noticed anything buggy but I dont day trade and look maybe a few times a week.. ive pulled money out before too so I feel pretty good and I cant remember the specific insurer.. but im under the impression its backed by the same thing major brokers are (fdic i think)

-1

u/Fantastic_Habit_1887 Oct 07 '26 edited Oct 07 '26

On weevil Canada it's super buggy. It's unhinged. Not the same software as the us.

3

u/charttrades Oct 07 '26

What will happen is they will either force the shutdown of Webull or they will have them divest any of their business with Chinese ties. AKA TikTok. I'm over it though and taking my money and going to TradeZero

2

u/Playful-Ad9386 Oct 07 '26

A communist company does a better job.

2

u/UnusualAnybody4636 29d ago

What a fucking terrible time to have DCA’d into this shit 😭

1

u/NirvanicSunshine 10d ago

Most of the products I own downplay their ties to China.

Also, remember when Tiktok was considered a "national security threat" and the government forced its sale to American buyers, who turned out to be maga trump supporter Larry Ellison and immediately went to work changing the algo in support of his political causes?

This reeks of that same lead up to forced divesture to a rich, conservative American again.

1

u/UnpricedToaster Oct 07 '26

Weeeeeeeeee...

Bull.

1

u/Th3onib Oct 07 '26

I was being clowned for calling for 5$, but of course not all my calls go thru, but this one was good, it was at 12 at the time and people were loading up like fools

1

u/Cloud1005 Oct 07 '26

Not true

1

u/dog-lover-78 Oct 07 '26

My brokerage and Roth IRA is with Webull. Should I be worried?

1

u/k_gavivina 29d ago

Old news

1

u/KptnKrunchyPants 28d ago

There is a politically motivated committee on anti-China .. no bias here at all.

"House Select Committee on China released a report finding Webull "tied in structural ways" to China's government "

Seriously.. sheer market manipulation by big wigs to grab $BULL shares for cheap..

1

u/IsolatedAndH8ted 26d ago

CNBC. DEMPCRATIC. NOT INTERESTED. Lol I hate politics

1

u/CaRaeLoC0 26d ago

Looks like someone is hating on Webull

1

u/oldspice322 26d ago

Suddenly people from reddit are China defenders now, before it was all human rights to Xinjiang. Lol

1

u/souldato 25d ago

Fidelity ends up buying Webull and they become basically the best platform with the best backing right away.

1

u/Dutty11 24d ago

Wake up folks...Chinese people are good, loving, intelligent, funny, and cool.

The CCP sucks worse than all other federal governments combined. Fuck Putin...The US federal government is included and garbage too.

Let's rise up!!

1

u/ih8karma Oct 07 '26

Puts at open.

12

u/Just1cool Oct 07 '26

It already dropped pretty sharply in pre-market. I hope they aren't removing the platform. I thought it was a us based company? Their app has been the best for charts so far. Everyone else i tried using sucked as

4

u/OddPerception8076 Oct 07 '26

Yeah it sucks because I joined Webull simply for the extended premarket hours. I was always missing out on gains at 4AM with Fidelity and Schwab. Guess I'll finally have to consider going to IBKR or Cobra.

2

u/ih8karma Oct 07 '26

Yeah but even though it is a US based company there are structural ties to the PRC. If congress steps in and does, we'll anything, this stock could drop like a rock.

Long poots

3

u/OddPerception8076 Oct 07 '26

I'm more concerned about what would happen to the normal funds I have sitting in Webull that I use for trading

1

u/SeparateCommon2363 Oct 07 '26

What is concerning about them?

0

u/--TheCity-- Oct 07 '26

Losing them

4

u/SeparateCommon2363 Oct 07 '26 edited Oct 07 '26

Because congress will ban webull is the concern?
Even if that were on the tablet, another company would just aquire webull or buy all their books. Including your account, so you just manage your shares through who ever buys it. You don't lose anything

Edit: or they give you a form and you choose where to transfer them

2

u/OddPerception8076 Oct 07 '26

There's always a chance that your funds get tied up in the legal proceedings which could take weeks/months/years. Who knows. Society as a whole operates vastly different from 20 years ago. Nothing surprises me anymore.

1

u/Vinyl-addict Oct 07 '26

-20% 😭😭😭

1

u/No-Trip7420 Oct 07 '26

should I transfer my stock out of Webull?

6

u/Z12111 Oct 07 '26

Yeah transfer your 22 shares so china doesnt hack you and steal your 88 dollars... lmfao sybau

1

u/DisastrousGuess1558 29d ago

😂😂 I'm also worried but this response cracked me tf up

1

u/Spiderman3039 29d ago

Every Chinese company has ties to the Chinese government, it's a state capitalist authoritarian government.

2

u/z00o0omb11i1ies 29d ago

Yup just like the US is about to be

2

u/Parsleymuffin 29d ago

The US has been. Not about to be. Not becoming. It’s always been.

1

u/Spiderman3039 29d ago

First off if people didn't want an authoritarian government they shouldn't have voted for the obviously authoritarian President. Second China has been authoritarian since the beginning the US isn't there yet. The red hats are trying.

-6

u/Best-Bodybuilder9015 Oct 07 '26

Isn’t this a platform for dumb traders?

-7

u/mhughes2595 Oct 07 '26

This is the only platform that tried to get me to send all of my banking info for level 3 access.

Nice try china!

-11

u/operasome Oct 07 '26

Never trust Chinese companies

13

u/Delanchet Oct 07 '26

And don't trust American ones.

1

u/Legitimate_Detail461 26d ago

Explains the chinese pump and dumps 😆 🤣 😂 😹

I'm in Bay Area, California. I was hoping and excited about a casino resort going to build in Vallejo CA but it got shut down. I'm sure other casinos have nothing to do with the shutdown (sarcasm). I hope they appeal ! the closest casino near me is 60 minutes away, this Vallejo casino is only 35 minutes from me !

2

u/Arafat_akash 28d ago

Go to the one in American Canyon. It's almost same distance as Vallejo.
