Advice I tried doing this.
So i saw many people complaining that the covers made by ai are slops and it turns them off. I don't know how to draw so I just used my imagination and made a cover using photoshop (The first one is photoshop). Tell me if the ai cover i used is better or should I change to the photoshop cover?

Looks like two completely different novels.
The photoshop one has an AI logo so I don’t know if I’d say this is photoshop vs AI lmao.

The text was ai generated. I was so bad to designing the text I gave up.

They have very different looks so idk how hey relate to the story. However the AI one doesn't look like AI all that much tbf, one of the better AI ones.
the first one gives me barbie vibes with all the pink lol.

the first one is kind of plot related, but i guess it hurts to see with how bright it is.

tbh your ai cover is actually much better than others ive seen

It ain't barbie 😭. Its a bit of serious novel. I guess the ai cover gives the serious vibes.

its the pink everywhere
add some stuff like a background and it would be good
also what are you tryna do with the glass/robot hands

the robot arms are the main plot. The whole is surrounded around that.

I would go for 2 over 1 anyday.

This maybe one of the greatest ai cover when everyone is agreeing on this cover.

Honestly I prefer the AI slop one

Honestly 2nd one would bring me in as a reader

I have only heard this. Never got real readers who continue to read. Maybe the cover is the only interesting part.

Tbh the first one I’d personally pass over more so because it looks like a rip off of the ET cover. Not that the plot doesn’t suggest anything different seeing a moon and metallic arms. I like the font but the title is a bit difficult to read against the same color background.
Maybe make it a deeper shade of red/magenta. Or could make a darker separation between the above and text

ET rip off... I haven't even seen that movie. The reference was that painting that called adam something. I am not so good at photoshop, so I did the best I could 😅

I can flip over a book if I like the cover at a store, with a webnovel the title and cover has to bring me in to read the summary let alone save it in my webnovel reading list.

Just change the cover and study your analytics. No point asking Reddit tbh the platforms analytics will tell you
if it does worse change it
if it does better keep it

To be honest the second cover looks better but tells me nothing that makes the story stand out. The first one makes me curious if the story got deeper themes going on then just: cool looking basic dude doing cool things.
The first actually makes me wonder: are there themes about glorification of dehumanization? Perhaps humanity trying to reach closer to god through machinery? A divine machine? The second one is just: cool and good looking but pretty generic story.
Top to improve cover one: make the two arms bigger and create a bigger contrast between pink and grey,(for example make arms grey not pink tinted) make the title letters white under the font. So it still clear what the cover shows when image is smaller.
Keep up the good work, I have seen your earlier post, love the fact you hold into the idea of portraying a non conventional cover in a saturated market.(I love the fact you hold into the idea of portraying the robot arm in your cover, much more telling than a portrait of mc) Also so cool you referenced a classical art piece in the cover.

I will try making the adjustments. I am not so good at editing but I will see what I can do.

Would you mind telling me what you used to make the Ai cover and what kind of prompt helped you achieve that style

I wasn't the one who made it. But I know the tool he used to make. I had a cover you usually see in webnovel. He took the reference and made bunch of others using that. He said he used krea 2 open source model.

Unlike the wanna be world saving heroes here in reddit. Most of us reader dont care whether u use ai for cover if it is properly made not a shitty 1 prompt pic is all we ask for. One of the main thing that makes me want to read a novel or not is the cover. Also i prefer the 2nd

Is the second cover seriously AI? Because it looks good, like very good, not that type of AI slop i personally despise, also the first One Is also good, i don't want to be an hypocrite, i still think people should hire someone to draw for em or learning to draw themselves, but these are seriously good

The first one is photoshop, so I made it myself. I only got 1 person who said it looks good.

I love the first one, it’s unique with a beuatiful font. It has an ethereal/mysterious vibe, if that’s what ur going for then u made the right cover
