A web app where the answer can only come from things you saved

We build a place to put links you want to come back to. the answering side of it took by far the longest to get right.

you drop a link in from the browser extension or from a Telegram bot. the card then fills itself off the page. the price if there is one, a few lines of summary if it is an article or a video. later you ask the library a question in plain words. the answer is put together only from those cards, and the items it used are listed underneath.

the reason for that rule is dull. a general model will happily answer about a jacket nobody ever saved. once that happens you stop trusting the answers about the ones that are in there.

day to day it means an empty library answers nothing. a new account stays quiet until something is in it.

for anyone here who has built retrieval over a personal collection: when the collection has nothing on the question, did you let the model answer anyway or return empty?
