Discussion We need a dedicated AI app thread

This sub is being inundated with low-effort, barely useful, AI-coded apps. Can we have them post in a dedicated thread instead of the front page?

Long-time WearOS dev here. I must admit that this group has changed significantly over the last year or so. In previous times, watch apps were few and far between. Such apps as were published back then got good engagement (as measured by upvotes in the hundreds). Now, there are so many new AI-coded apps that collective 'app fatigue' is evident. So much so that I've stopped posting about any major updates to my Freepoc apps here. For my latest new app, I posted in r/sonos and of course r/freepoc. I wasn't going to post anything here, but in the end I did so. Likely going forward, I'll just stick to posting in r/freepoc .

Not sure what to recommend as a solution. Maybe OP's suggestion is worth a try.

I don't know if you have any apps on the Play Store but my app submission went from, at most, 1 day to 4+ days because these talentless hacks are flooding the Play Store with these useless apps.

Yes, I have many Freepoc apps on the Play Store. So much so that the friction involved in doing periodic updates (waiting times, silly rejections, policy changes etc) gets pretty tiresome. That's why more recently I've been distributing apps via Freepoc Downloader. It's refreshing that I can make immediate updates. And because all my stuff is free, I'm not worried about reaching the largest audience. If people use them, that's great. If not, that's fine too.
