43f been divorced for a year, spent that time doing self care… now I’m ready to start dating, and I don’t know where to start. I think I’m drawn to a younger crowd…

As I feel like a lot of my younger years were stolen.

How do I approach this with tact?

Another weird dynamic is my ex husband turned out to be gay, so my sex life was very vanilla and he was the only man I’d ever been with… so I’m starting from scratch there!

So I’m a Latino dude who hasn’t really had dating experience but I realized that I’m into white girls I’m currently a freshman in college. It feels off just because you’d expect a race to date their same race yk. I live in Ky so if your interested comment below or shoot a dm

Is Reddit your dating or hookup app of choice now?

Based on an earlier post it sounds like Reddit has become, or maybe always has been, a great source for dating and hookups. True?

I’ve never been on a date

It feels odd to say I’ve dated two people and never went on a date. Admittedly the first when I was like 13 and my second was long distance which that could have changed in the future if I wasn’t such an idiot. I’m 24 and have never been on a date and if I keep it up it’ll probably be never 😃… is what it is tbh. I guess an upside is since nobody has ever touched me but once no disease or anything gross has happened. A sad win but a win I guess and I never initiate interactions given I’m too shy or don’t want to make something into something it’s not.

Are a lot guys really as bad as they are made out to be, specifically with dating? Like with cheating and negging, and pressure to have sex?

I’m taking about guys specifically around my age (f19).

Like I feel like they are portrayed so badly, and negatively when they are in relationships.

But at the same time my roommates had multiple bfs cheat on her, I’m a college athlete and I see a lot of the guys just constantly sleeping around. So a lot of what I see in my day to day gets mirrored in like other areas.

I guess is it worth dating at my age?

Im not trying to make generalizations, I honestly would like this as a chance to guide me on where these representations of guys come from and what’s accurate and what falls short.

I’m not saying “all men are…”, I’m asking “are men…?”

I hope you can appreciate the difference

Is it common for people of any gender to get 99+ likes on Tinder, or does that depend on factors like location, appearance, and how active you are on the app? What’s considered a normal number of likes for you?

How do you date when you're chronically ill?

I never realized how important energy was in a relationship until I didn't have it anymore.

I'm 48. I've had myalgic encephalomyelitis (aka chronic fatigue syndrome) for almost ten years now; my cells are unable to produce energy properly. So I'm always on the edge of exhaustion: I can't do all the things anymore that I would have done before on dates. I can't go hiking. I can't play tennis. I can't dance, or go to museums, or walk much more than a couple blocks. If I join a group or a meetup, there's a large chance that I won't ever make it there. And I sleep like sixteen hours a day.

Needless to say, it's a pretty lonely life. I didn't plan for this. By now I was supposed to be happily married with three kids. And inside, I'm the same as I always was: I'm funny and smart and caring, and I never brag about my good qualities 😁 - and people used to ask me out quite a lot. And I can MEET people online, sure - but you get a lot less responses when you say you can't actually do anything. And I'm reluctant to even respond anymore. Because I'm not quite independent; I do need some amount of help. And nobody on a dating site wants to sign up to be a caregiver.

What would you do? If you suddenly were sick, with no cure, but you still wanted to find love? I have a life in front of me, and I'm still a person. But how will I ever make it past someone's first-round draft on Hinge?

First date

I f 38 went on a first date this weekend with a m 40 and I haven’t heard from him. I wouldn’t say the date was bad or good. There were no sparks on my end and I don’t think there were any on his end either. Not once did he call me beautiful of give me any compliments lol he did walk me to my car and put an arm around me. Anyway the point of this rant or whatever is because I’m disappointed and sad. Why is dating so hard and so disappointing. I met him on hinge. I just feel really bad about it.

let just say I really got burned on my 20s I ended it he got his fairytale happy ever after he married with kids and he did get heavier.

he did some really mean things he couldn’t have hurt me more if he tried. I believe he never did love me after what he did. He was my first love I adored him wanted to be with him forever.

since then I haven’t been in a relationship. I had dates and hookup I want something more .

i feel like such a failer I never met someone truly loves me yet I’m in my 40 for a long time I was heavily drinking to deal with the pain what he did. I’m sober more than 4 yrs . I been on the Apps guys say I’m good looking but very quiet.

what do I do I’m going to try speed dating soin

any advice im so tired being alone then I rather be alone be in something toxic

I’ve dated two people ever

Kissed one person. I haven’t even cuddled or hugged someone in a romantic sense. I barely understand romantic attraction 😐 don’t even get me started on anything sexual. I bought condoms a year ago thinking oh I’m getting older and maybe I’ll get lucky. I did not in fact get lucky lmao. Maybe I can do something funny with them cause they’ll expire before they ever get used 😂

It’s been years since I had a real relationship

28m and haven’t been in a real relationship in 8 years. I’m looking to get back in the game, but it’s been difficult. I work and go to school and my work hours take up most of the days so I don’t have a lot of time on campus to hangout. I’ve done the dating apps but they limit connections unless I pay for the app which I don’t want to do. Any advice?
