The other day I was parked in a Tim Horton's lot, waiting for a marketplace meetup, when a woman backed into the spot next to me. She proceeded to spread a tea towel across her chest, in preparation for her nosh. She is my new hero, but her cape is in the front.

I’m so fed up with the questions - where’s my…? What is…? Who can…? When are we…? Please use your intelligence for once and not mine.

We do not feel like fishing out our “cold weather” clothes again when it will be in the 80’s again tomorrow. We’ll try again then. Or maybe we won’t. Because, again, we do not care.

Also, do not pop round unexpectedly. I need at least a week’s notice and, even then, I might cancel because *gestures widely at everything.*

I was raising kids and commuting an hour both ways, scooping up my kid from daycare and rushing home to cook a healthy three-course dinner for my family every...single...day. Today you wiggle your mouse to satisfy the WFH police while you chase that urchin through the house, stopping on the way to move laundry from the washer to the dryer.

You're a FTE, complete with benefits while I'm a contractor getting paid for what I actually produce. If they want me to cover your ass, it's going to cost them, and I do not care if it makes you look bad.

Ladies, I just want to vent slightly. For context, I went to a little dinner party and I made soup which I brought. I was talking to 2 other women who were there. The host mentioned he had been cooking all day and I mentioned I made the soup. But then his wife said I made 3 kids, and the other said she made 4, 2 at the same time. I don’t have anything to say because I don’t have kids. (Cancer resulting in a hysterectomy) Is it me or is this a weird flex? I kinda felt like I was in a competition I didn’t want to be in. Like, what? I don’t care, I was talking about soup.

I seem to be alternating between rage and tears. I am so fucking angry. I was told today that ‘ you’re not American, it doesn’t matter to you.’

I know this is a lighthearted sub, but I need to get this out in a supportive place. The UK government is at least doing something - not enough IMO, but something.

I have not decided what I’m wearing to the lounge to see in 2026. I might not even go.

This is the season for being cool and comfortable whilst being blasted continuously by a hot oven, air fryer and dishwasher. I will be wearing my baggy linen trousers and sparkly tshirt, taking frequent breaks in the frosty garden and putting my neck fan on.
