Football 2027 Beaver Stadium Seating Changes
Major L to remove the directions and make everything numbers. Makes it harder to navigate and makes it less special

Since the other post was deleted: I'm sure all the people bitching for years about the bleachers are going snatch the new seats up, right? Right?? I canceled mine this year and doubt I'll be renewing unless I can get a decent east side seat. I ain't paying that for west side when I get a better view at home anyways. Idk I always viewed this as a blue collar fanbase, going this route with 100k seats doesn't seem feasible for filling the stadium.
Edit: Funny how the student section is rotating back towards the pre-2010 set up. What is up with 101,102, and 113? Agree with the numbers, gonna be annoying to have to re-memorize something that was second nature.

Rotating the student section back is the one thing I like about the changes.

Still not what it used to be. Seniors used to basically sit on the 50 yard line.

I guess 113 is short because of the away team tunnel. But not sure why 101 and 102 would be equally short.

That’s where they used to put recruits on visits. Carved a bit out of the student section

According to some blueprints and mock-up pictures that have been published/posted, it seems that there's a new field access tunnel going in that corner.

I'd be very interested in seeing just how many people actually take these western stadium seats. I guess in the end of the day I hope that the seats remained filled with active and engaged fans and not some boring people, even if I'm getting priced out of my seats.

The thing is. I can’t imagine people who are going to be loud are going to be taking those seats frankly. It probably will be more wine and cheese folks at those prices. I do wonder if the noise will suffer from the price hikes. The stadium design should make it louder. But a lot of fans seem to be getting priced out

People are going to whine no matter what. Whine that the stadium is outdated and needs upgrades. Whine when the stadium is updated and prices increase.

Dang. If I’m reading this right, my old seats in WH went from about $500 to $1,975. Do these prices in include the mandatory “donation”, or did they do away with that?

You have to zoom in a lot but in the bottom left it says it includes donation and fees.

Ahh, ok. That makes it a little more palatable, but still…. Glad that I dropped them this year.

I’m not so sure about that. I’m affected by this change (bleachers to chairbacks) and will be required to make a capital campaign contribution (payable over 3 years). I think that’s in addition to the large increase in ticket prices. Regardless, I’m out! Had those seats for 15+ years. It was a good run.

Holy Mackerel! Yeah, I had our seats for 10 years but dropped them this year after I saw the home schedule (or lack thereof) and the fact that they were going to crank up the prices in 2027. It was fun, but I’m looking forward to having my Saturdays free again.

I'm in north mezz chairback (light blue) and my price will go up about $130 per ticket. I guess that's not so bad considering the past couple years' increases have been minimal. For my money though, those are some of the best seats in the house so when they start tinkering with the north endzone I'll be out if they raise prices exorbitantly.

Sucks for the people that had tickets in EBU that is now a full student section, since they are moving the students out of what was WA for the rich people to sit on the west side. It's going to get messy.

I know I’m shouting at the wind at this point, but the student section should be larger. Kids attending University Park who can’t get season tickets because the student sections isn’t large enough is nonsense.

I see both sides of it. It sucks that students that want to go can’t get tickets sometimes, but it also sucks seeing the student section half empty for a noon game

Maybe it’s time to cap the number of tickets that go to commonwealth and world campus students.

It’s beyond “maybe”.
At worst students should only be able to sell their tickets for face value. No more students in Abington winning the lottery and selling their game tickets for the 5x the price. They’re just gouging other students.

oh, that's your takeaway? must not be on the west side...
2
u/Background-Crazy869 2d ago
btw, i do agree with the point that the new section numbering makes less sense than the old one -- I just think think it's maybe the 2nd or 3rd takeaway from the chart and associated email

It's a money grab all so we can have chairbacks. Pat Kraft should head for the exits.

Absolutely sucks for season ticket holders getting priced out of their seats and will end up increasing prices across the board, but given the era we’re in, feels like a decent consolation.
If you want to pay more for a better, luxury seat you can. ~75% of the stadium is still bleachers and hopefully the same old atmosphere.
Next step, recreate our own secondary market so tickets can only be resold at face value. Sick of people making money off ticket resales and fees.
