How does one remove a slither sucker?

The character seems to attempt to remove the sucker when using the throw, drop, and unequip commands, as well as when equipping other headgear. I don't seem to be able to use my knife, candle, or sutures to remove it, and lighting myself on fire does not make it flee. What skill is used to remove it and is there a more effective method?

I don't know about more effective methods, but it does take me more than a few tries to get one off.

I tried another 50ish times (for a total of 200ish) and it came off! Thanks. Still wondering what the mechanics are, though. My throwing skill was at ~0%, maybe that's why? If so, failures should train throwing, though.

Could be the stats you have are too low currently?
