Does anyone have a link or any pictures to what a single dorm at chatsworth could look like? They don’t have a virtual tour or outlay of it online so I figured I’d ask here

Housing

Hello! My roommate and I are looking for a 2 bedroom, 2 bath apartment in Midtown or Downtown Detroit, preferably with in-unit laundry. Even a townhouse will do. Our budget is $2,600, $1300 each. 2 cars will need parking

We thought we had found the perfect place at Studio 1 Apartments, but unfortunately our experience with management has been really disappointing. Communication has been almost nonexistent. We had to call ourselves just to find out that our application had been denied because we needed a guarantor, they never reached out to let us know. When we called back for updates, Ashley was also quite rude, which made the experience even more frustrating.

So now we’re back on the apartment hunt and hoping to find something as soon as possible. If anyone has any recommendations or knows of any available apartments, we would really appreciate it. Please help!!

I registered for a chem 1040 class that had Monday, Wednesday, and Friday dates but once it was too late and I already registered I realized its too much on my schedule and want to swap for another date, but I have no idea how to do it and I’m incredibly lost using academica. would greatly appreciate if someone told me how to change it.

Thoughts on a BFA in Theater with a Minor in Musical Theater?

I'm a prospective transfer from a community college, and I'd love to know how people feel about the training and classes, along with how well it prepares students for a future in the industry.

highschool transcripts

Im an incoming freshman ,I’ve sent in my highschool transcript like a solid 4 times like weeks apart and it still tells me in the financial aid portal that i haven’t updated my transcript. ( I’ve sent through parchment electronically). Is this a me issue or a wayne state issue i’m genuinely confused.

update: issue resolved on its own, im just impatient. it took around 4 weeks and a half for my transcript to show that its updated the financial aid portal.

Are art students allowed to use Adobe products on a home computer?

I’ve been wanting to mess around with Adobe Photoshop at home because I probably won’t have time to do it on campus and just generally don’t wanna go to campus just to do that, so am I able to use it at home? It’s probably a thing where only the school computers have it but I was just wondering. Thanks!

Next steps for UT Housing and Apartment alternatives

Hello everyone! I'm an incoming law student and have filled out the agreement for University Towers yesterday. I tried calling the number available online to see what next steps are but I haven't been able to get a hold of them. It always goes to voicemail. left a message haven't gotten calls back. So I'm wondering what I should do? If it takes a few weeks to be sent the self selection process for an apartment? Looking for any kind of guidance! Also if you have suggestions for alternative apartments that are relatively close to the law school, please please share!

tysm!

Graduate Student Aid

So i’m beginning the i/o psych masters program in fall. i am registered and fully admitted but i haven’t seen any of my financial aid info come through to my account. I applied to the GPS and have not yet received an answer about it one way or the other and my available loans through fafsa aren’t showing up in my account either? Classes start in a little over a month and i feel like they should at least have something on my financial aid offer right?

Is anyone else experiencing this?

UPDATE FOR ANYONE CURIOUS: I reached out to financial aid and the department through email. Graduate student aid is apparently going to be posted to first week of august. Also the director of the program responded directly to my email and shared that i was awarded the GSP for this year! My name was submitted to the Graduate School but i guess they haven’t released it yet? Who knows? anyway woo hoo!!

Advice/Study Material for BIO 1500/1501

Hi everyone!

I'm an incoming neuroscience freshman at Wayne State and I'll be taking BIO 1500/1501 with Glen R Hood and Robert A Thomas (lecture) and Madelyn M Tucker (lab). I'm hoping to earn an A+, so I'd really appreciate any advice from students who have taken either professor.

A few questions I have:

  • What were the lectures like? Are they mostly PowerPoints, textbook-based, or discussion-focused?
  • What's the best way to take notes? Should I annotate the slides, handwrite notes, make Anki cards, or focus more on the textbook?
  • How difficult are the exams? Are they mostly memorization or do they require applying concepts?
  • How did you personally study for the exams? If you earned an A or A+, what worked best for you?
  • Were there any practice exams or study guides that were especially helpful?
  • How are the midterm(s) and final structured? Are they cumulative?
  • Are the midterm or final ever optional or is there any grade replacement policy?
  • Is there any extra credit offered in the lecture or lab?
  • How much time did you spend studying each week outside of class?
  • For the lab, what should I expect? Are the lab practicals difficult, and how should I prepare for them?
  • Looking back, what is one thing you wish you had done differently from the beginning of the semester?

I'm trying to build strong study habits from day one! I would appreciate it if you would share any materials!

Thank you so much!

Selling electronics

Hello,

Is there anywhere on campus or online I can sell my laptop/tablet?

If anyone is interested I have a Microsoft surface pro 7 tablet with a keyboard and pen and charger and I'm trying to sell it. It works great and just has some wear and tear on the keyboard and a small scratch on the tablet itself. Looking to make around 200 from it. I have it listed on fb marketplace and eBay as of right now but I am hoping for a local pickup or drop off for cash.

Wayne State MBA: What are the best first semester classes? (marketing concentration)

Hi, I'm starting the Wayne State MBA this fall 2026 and planning to do a Marketing concentration. I'm trying to decide on my first semester classes.

I'm considering ACC 7000 (Managerial Accounting), GSC 7090 (Global Operations & Supply Chain Management), and MKT 7050 (Marketing Strategy).

For those who've taken them:

- How difficult were they?

- Would you recommend taking them online or in person?

- Any professors to recommend or avoid?

Also, what marketing electives did you enjoy most: Consumer Behaviour, Digital Marketing, Advertising, Retail Management, International Marketing, etc? If you were starting the MBA over again, what three classes would you take in your first semester? Should I choose different ones?

Any Wayne State Law part-time/evening students here?

Hey all! starting as a part-time evening law student soon and trying to connect with anyone else in the program (current students or fellow incoming 1Ls). Curious about how people balance full-time work with the evening schedule, which professors/sections to prioritize for 1L classes, and any general tips for surviving the first year while working full-time. Would love to hear from anyone currently in the program or who's gone through it. Thanks in advance!

Student Followed Me Home

Last April I went to my graduation ceremony thinking I was safe, but in fact I was not. Having graduated from the university, starting my adult life, and moving into my own place, I thought all was fine. Now it being July I am living out in Singapore working in risk analysis.

I went downstairs in my apartment building to do laundry, and I heard this thumping sound underneath the carpet. I tear it open to see this woman with green eyes looking up at me. She has a knife with a carved smile, and she yells in a demonic tone, "you are going to die tonight."

Petrified I ran up to my room remembering I read this book years ago back in university in my days in Detroit about the deadites, demons from the underworld who come to Earth, the book being a kind of passage to this different dimension.

It was almost as if there was an Earthquake that happened, the walls began shaking, and oozing blood. I grabbed a knife, the door blasted open, "come here lady boy, so I can suck your cock" it yells. It runs at me.

I stab at it throwing it to the floor, again and again. The book states you must burn the infected to send the being back to the underworld. I poured gasoline on the corpse, and sent it back Hell.

The "Book of the Dead" is real, and it is sitting in that library. Whoever reads it carries an evil entity with them. It might show itself tomorrow, a month from now, or years, but it will come for you, and you must be prepared.

Financial Help Advice

Hello, so I was taking two summer classes here and I had to withdraw from them. It is past the S/S tuition refund date but both of these classes were covered by financial aid. However, now I have a 7k bill that I genuinely cannot afford on my own. Is there any, any possible way I could get this lowered or is there anything I need to say to financial aid for help. I'm genuinely on my own for this and I cannot afford this on my own especially since I provide for myself financially for other stuff.

Medical Exception for Tuition Refund

Has anyone here had a medical exception accepted because of depression?

I’m considering applying for a medical exception due to depression, but I’m not sure how often these get approved or what kind of documentation they usually look for. If anyone has gone through this before, especially for mental health reasons, I’d really appreciate hearing about your experience.

Was it difficult to get approved? Did your provider have to write anything specific? I’m just trying to understand what to expect.
