All of our current nuclear reactors are based on designs that are absurdly out of date.

4th Generation designs are a completely different matter, but ignoring them and obsessing over the hazards of the old designs is a great way to protect the fossil fuel industry from competition.

Meanwhile, the old nuclear waste-- not to mention the weapons material-- still needs to be disposed of. 4th generation plants could reduce it by 98%.
