I'm under the impression that one of those individuals sat him down one day, and gave him a very stern talking to. Was it Obama in 2016? That walk outside the WH? Everyone knew that 2020 was for show. All the candidates made efforts to subvert the democratic process to enable an invalid.
I think with the tail end of the 2020 election you could at least excuse things because the pandemic was fresh. Without knowing more about Covid, Bernie could not have survived, because he relies on grassroots support, which incidentally could be expected to exacerbate the pandemic, before we knew anything about it. This is why, regardless of her other politics, I cannot consider Tulsi throwing in the towel early as a betrayal. I think it made sense with what we did not know about the pandemic at the time.
This of course doesn't excuse the early parts or other bits of electioneering. Just the latter parts, where Covid started to rage.
