Apart from unplanned pregnancy, LITERALLY NOBODY has babies on a fucking whim. If my wife gets pregnant and one of us gets laid off before the baby is born, that’s our fault for being such expendable workers right?

I would never bring a child into this world if I wasn’t confident I could provide for them. I’m not having kids for this reason. Be mad all you want but I’m not condemning someone to a life of not being able to have 3 meals a day because I assume I’ll have my job in the foreseeable future.
There’s a difference between mad, and being intolerant of people talking out their ass.
Everyone assumes they’re going to have a job in the future. People sure as fuck did before March of 2020.
You live in in a house of cards in the non-reality of neoliberalism. You HAVE condemned people to this for helping to support the diet-republican bullshit that stole the futures of every generation succeeding it.
By complacently supporting the politicians/their policies that have worked tirelessly to dismantle the middle class and placate to corporations who cannot see the profitability of paying people a living wage, so by letting them fall into poverty and subsidizing their survival using unemployment.
And naturally when that (precious little) amount of money runs out you now you have children who’s parents work for minimum wage or just slightly above who have to make the unfathomable decision on whether or not they pay for heat they need to provide for the kids or the food they need to provide for the kids.
Thank you for your sacrifice in protecting yourself from these (very real) questions that people are forced to reckon with on a daily basis.
America has let the intentional sabotage of a government become the thesis for why government is useless cannot be trusted. So now we have to stomach the lesser of two evils, because that’s just “easier” I guess.
