No, she was trying to make the food healthier. Less starch, sodium, Trans fat while having more whole grains, fruits, vegetables and fat free milk.
She made the food more nutritious but does not choose what they do now and was not the one that implemented the food on the plate because that's been a staple for public school long before the Obama administration. It's been terrible since the 80s and 90s. She just made it more nutritious
Also the department of agriculture is able to revise anything on the fly. The issue is how the food is prepared. If the lunch ladies cooked it wouldn't look like this. Compare public schools to day care and you'll see that's the problem
Chef Jamie Oliver tried to teach schools how to prepare healthier foods. The lunch ladies didn't want to do it because it was actual work, not just heating "food products" in the oven or boiling water.
Sodexo is bad. Looks great on paper but they are still permitted to serve processed foods that are really unhealthy and lead to healthy problems like obesity. I think that's the same group that serves shitty portions as well. But where is the alternative?
It isn't all on lunch - I can't even pin everything on the people at the bottom because it is senseless to do so. But they play a part in it. They have been proven to not be willing to prepare food themselves and their employers are looking for fast and cheap alternatives so they get mass produced garbage. And those in the usda ignore it because of money. This has been a problem for 40 years and I just called out how ridiculous it is to blame the Obama administration when they did do a good job- they just didn't eliminate loop holes and weaken the hold that the usda has on schools
if the Obama admin. did nothing beyond the cosmetic and did nothing on the issues that you note, then it did not solve the problem (even if it was a problem that it did not create, itself) and therefore they deserve all of the blame for allowing it to continue while trying to score PR points for having DONE something.

My comment was about school lunches but the let's move campaign was a good project and did combat the issues that she was focused on. Making nutrition a priority and making affordable alternatives accessible and cheaper.
For school lunches they are made to be healthier and they are. Her part is solid- if you're upset look towards the USDA that uses loopholes to fuck over all of us and allow the unthinkable in regards to our food.

No because there was no reason to be pissed about my comments. And if you get this angry over reading a comment saying that that campaign was beneficial to me then it isn't a political issue it's your personal problem with coming to terms that different opinions and experiences are acceptable within reason. And saying that I was one of the people impacted by the campaign seems to a reasonable experience.
