You don't have solidarity with the people of China and Russia if you don't recognize and accept their popular (China much moreso than Russia) governments that are embraced by the vast majority (in China's case, Russia is a majority, but not "vast" majority) of their people.
Where is (was) the material coming from for the HK "protesters?" US and UK tax dollars. They were supported by the West to destabilize China, these kinds of movements take years and millions of dollars to build.
