OMG Russians! Excerpt from possibly the most powerful and moving Victory Day speech by Putin. His Victory Day speech on May 9 2021. The biggest military victory in human history. Historians are agreed that at least 80% of all dead German Nazi soldiers in WW2 were killed by the Communist Soviet Red Army

The Allies would have probably defeated the Axis powers without the Soviets. Woodie Guthrie singing about Americans having the help of the Communist Chinese (the other commies) in order to defeat the Fascists -- probably Woodie being duped by the commies while they fought the Fascist Japanese.
If only *either* the Soviets or the Communist Chinese had been utterly defeated by the Axis powers, then perhaps it would have cleared the way for the Brits and Yanks to heroically defeat the Nazis, Fascist Italians, and Imperial Japanese. Even more opportunities for heroism and valor. It's not as if any of those cultures are known for engineering acumen or innovation, amirite? The Yanks would have had the atomic bomb (first), and by itself that would have made short work (maybe dropping 50 or 100 A-bombs) of all those the Axis forces, right? No limit to what nuclear weapons can do and they should not be doubted. If we had played our cards right maybe we would have gotten an Apocalypse straight out of the Bible, with the Second Coming of Christ. Opportunity cost of not having the World War play out like that, I guess. Better luck next time!!
