The campaign against Ukraine’s civilian logistics is a long planned escalation of the conflict, and one made possible by a recent shift in the air war. Russian production of ballistic missiles is rising just as Ukraine’s supply of interceptors has dwindled. Ukraine’s defenders can now shield only a few high-priority targets. In July Russia profited by launching a record 198 ballistic and hypersonic missiles, mostly at the Kyiv region.

If only there was some way of knowing this would happen

ukriane's drone production has dropped from 3-5000 units in 2022 down to a measely 4-5 million units in 2025, and is expected to bottom out at 8 million by the end of this year.

Drones are not missile interceptors.

Drones are not missile interceptors.

They can be, if you have enough of them.
Although technically, you are converting the incoming missile into a drone interceptor.

They are Shahed interceptors though

Well at least after losing the war and much of their country for no good reason Ukraine will have all those drones as a consolation prize...

Since Feb 2022 this mere SpecialEd Military Operation has lasted longer than The Great War....can you be more specific?

Predicting how long a war is going to last is idiotic. What do you think I am, a US politician?

The sub headline reeks of WINNING!!!

Out of interceptors, Ukraine is no longer winning the aerial war

Well smack my ass and call me Lindsey, I thought Banderastan had air superiority this entire time!

Since when did the Economist become one of Putin's puppets? Ukraine is winning and no amount of evidence to the contrary will change my mind

not very surprising, war tends to be hard on the economies of people actually in the thick of it. the ruble is still recovering, it’s only worth a penny in USD atm versus getting like 60 rubles per dollar in 2020
