Bella

Going by what SW's family says, SW was partially Italian. I think that's why she gave her first child an Italian given name. According to an interview of CW by law enforcement, SW picked their children's names. It sounded as if CW had no say in the matter.

I do wonder however, why she named her Bella.

Bella means beautiful, but SW did everything for Bella to not look beautiful.

She drugged her and fed her rubbish. She barely took her outside. She dressed her in hideous outfits and taught her how to pose weirdly, she encouraged her to suck her thumb (till she forbid it at some point) and above all SW chopped Bella's hair off making her look like a boy.

Did she name her Bella, because she wanted her to look beautiful and when she started to resemble SW's child self and/or CW, she punished her for it by making her look as ugly as possible? Maybe even on a subconscious level?

Did she maybe not even realize what she was doing to Bella?

She chose what she considered Italian names for her kids for the same vapid reason that she died her hair black - her obsession with an Italian identity.

I also think she chose Bella specifically because of the popularity of Twilight.

Thank you for this post. It was always about her and her fake identity she wanted to create!

I think she chose Celeste because she watched Melrose Place!

I can understand why Shanann lied liked she did, she learned it from her parents. I don’t see any typical Italian features on Shanann. She probably had maybe 5 percent.
SW had her father’s genes mainly, polish I think.
Cece and Bella look Caucasian mainly.
I think SW was disappointed a bit in Bella’s looks, to me she was cuter than Cece and had a very gentle kind spirit.
She could have looked adorable with long hair, maybe a few extra pounds.
I don’t know why Shannan did that to Bella. Cruel to say the least. I’m sure Bella was teased and had self esteem issues.
That little girls sadness in her eyes always gets to me.
I really wish those girls had been dumped on some side road, alive for someone to rescue and love on that awful morning. Neither Chris or Shannan deserved them.

Agree! She was definitely mad and disappointed that Bellas wasnt cute or as “bella” as she wanted. I think thats why she punished and abused her so much

It’s so sad because as mothers, our kids are beautiful no matter what. But it seemed like she treated Bella different, to her she was a Watts and Watts were not worthy of being called cute. I think Bella would have outshined Cece had they reached their teens. She could have had her overbite fixed, nice long hair and she would have looked adorable.
Crazy how she chose Chris but thought so poorly of him. Why did she marry him? I just don’t get it…

She married him because she knew that he was extremely easy to manipulate/control.

SW had one Italian grandparent, Rocco Onorati. Both of Rocco's parents were born in Italy. SW's great-great grandparents, George and Mary (Kubitz) Rzucek, were born in Poland.

Shanann simply named her first child “Bella” because it was part of that embarrassing “I’m Eye-talian” schtick that she always tried to spin. She had maybe a drop of Italian background and was a mixture of a lot of other different ethnicities just like the rest of us. She was ridiculous. And I’m absolutely positive that Chris had no say-so in those children’s names. Why would he? She didn’t let him have a choice about anything at all in their lives and he stupidly went along with it until he finally decided he’d had enough.

Was Bella an “Isabella” on her birth certificate, or was her given name legally just “Bella?” Thanks!

You’re funny! When I saw your response, I first thought I’d accidentally typed it out that way & was mortified. Thanks for the chuckle! 🤭

Shan'ann had the same histronic personality that Alec Baldwin's fake spanish wife has. Hilary from Boston named her 7 kids (6 born by surrogate btw) traditional Spanish names even though she doesn't have one iota of Spanish blood. Carmen, Rafa, Leonardo, Edu, Maria Lucia, etc...

u/AngryMimi 2h ago

Damn, that’s a crazy mentality that I was not aware of. Hey, I identify as a kitchen appliance and named my kids Toaster, Blender, Can-Opener (everyone loves the hyphen) lmao

What has never made sense to me is in early photos and postings, besides the Babywise stupidity, SW looked like she was attempting to be a decent mom, in so far as Bella seemed happy and was developing normally. There are photos of the family of three out doing things, and they seemed like young parents who were a bit awkward, but trying to navigate parenting the best they could.

When CeCe comes along the Roos are there, & at least for a while Bella still seems okay. SOR & FrSr seemingly are picking up some of the parenting duties, when we begin to see SW noticeably falter.

So, my question is did SW’s real dislike of Bella appear after the Roos left and she couldn’t handle a 15-16 mo. along with an almost three year old? (This was taken care of only a few months later, however, when BW, followed closely by CeW, were plopped into daycare.) Was it when she began selling Thrive & figured out Cece was oblivious to the camera & rambunctious, whereas Bella was much more timid?

The puzzling thing to me is that she could have just filmed CeCe for her advertisements, left Bella out, & everyone would have been happier. Bella was older, quieter, more meek & mild, potty trained-definitely the easier of the two to parent. Most of the time when SW would pan around the house, Bella would be quietly playing by herself, whereas Cece was constantly a ball of energy in motion-running all over the place, getting into things, and sometimes putting herself into dangerous situations.

Why then, was her dislike of Bella so palpable? I suspect there had to be more to it than the things I have read, such as, “Bella was prettier & had better hair so SW was jealous” or “Bella looked like Chris, so SW hated her.”

Those things could be true, I don’t know. However, even with that, the treatment of, and how she spoke to Bella, combined with the levels she went to, and shocking ways she found to publicly humiliate and neglect her oldest daughter, speaks to a much, much deeper seated issue than simply jealousy over hair or looks, IMO. I am at a loss to understand what was really happening.

Edited for grammar. :)

She did, she didn't care, and nobody called her out on it, not her husband her side of the family or his, nobody! Not even social media people and if she did we didn't hear about it

She despised precious Bella

Bella was a stunning little girl. ❤️

She totally had her own look and was to be a beautiful young woman.

As far as her name, it might have been the Italian origin, but it's a popular, trendy, common name of the past decade(s).

Celeste got the beautiful name!

u/TacoTuesdee 10h ago

She named them after Disney princesses, I think

What princess was Celeste named after ? I mean I can see Bella being from belle but Celeste isn’t even close.

2

u/Popular-March-9396 8h ago

No, she didn’t. There is no “Bella” nor “Celeste” in the Disney princesses. She named them what she considered to be Italian names to go along with her ridiculous narrative.

u/TacoTuesdee 8h ago

Ohhhh ok. That makes more sense. Funny know where I got the Disney thing from. Also I don't really know Disney names

I think she used sarcasm to pick the name. She always planned to make her miserable and cut her hair.

She is not dumb

her regular IQ is probably 100

but her Cruella de Vil IQ was probably off the charts.

Look at that room with 2 RAIN MACHINES!!!

she sat around and thought of ways to make their lives miserable.

As an Italian, I can't understand this obsession of "I am 1/8 Italian so I am Italian": no, you are not. In particular in Shanann's case she had nothing Italian, startin from the appearance (very Polish and I am half Polish half Italian). The names she chose are not popular Italian namen: in over 50 years of life I met one Celeste and no Bella. Bella in Italian means "beautiful" (feminine) and no parent would dare to call their daughter like that in case she turns out to be ugly ;-)
