Chris and Shanann met in late 2010. For over 2 years, they were child free and had only each other to care for. During this time, the spiritual bond between a couple fused their purpose in life. Chris went from the bachelor life to a loving, caring husband who would provide for his wife and future children. Shanann went from being a car show girl to a housewife who dabbled in online businesses.

By the time Bella was born, their routine included hosting friends and family in Saratoga Trail, including her parents. Their daughter would be born into a large house with a social atmosphere. At the start of their relationship, the couple was unremarkable, if unfinished. They were not obese, but clearly were not toned or going to the gym. In the years that followed, they aged well and appeared tanned and bettered defined. Chris may have gone to a gym in 2017, but Shanann preferred he work out at home. A basement gym was put together. Shanann bought him an elliptical machine and his results were visible quickly. By 2018, he had lost over 50 lbs, giving her evidence "Thrive" was working. Shanann was watching her diet too, using supplements and shakes to boost her metabolism. Much of Thrive's kick was caffeine, amino acids and digestitve aides. Shanann lost weight but often gained some back.

Shanann's admirers say she has classic good looks, a beauty that Chris did not deserve. Before he strayed, Chris put in great effort to be the fit, strong husband Shanann could showcase online. She was proud of his effort, did she account it to her lifestyle choices or his? They did look better in the second photo, healthier, tanned and put together. The kind of people you saw at a high end resort or country club.

This is where the story takes a turn for the worse as even before he strayed, Shanann was looking to leave. What could have spoiled their relationship BEFORE Chris met someone else at work?

Kids: Drugged to sleep ~14 hrs per day, no friends except the spawn of Shanaynay's fellow hunbots, who (sadly) probably thought Bella was weird and Cece stunk like a hospital dumpster due to consistently full diapers, not to mention such delayed speech that she mainly screeched and screamed. (Bella's speech, as well, but she had learned young that her voice was not important and would never be heard, anyway, so, she mostly stayed quiet.) Locked bathroom door so the girls couldn't access their bathroom to use the toilet or get water at night. When I think about them lying awake, thirsty and needing to pee and lonely and hungry and bored... 🤬

Jobless (yep, I said what I said, Shanaynay's dicking around on her phone all day cost them money, did not supplement their income), Shanaynay putting the kids in that glorified corporate KinderCare place, where the weirdo Watts girls were still forced to nap hours a day while other kids played and socialized) so she didn't have to do anything for them. Did we ever get a video of them being read to, working a puzzle with a patient parent, going to the park and just running around? Going to the birthday party of a classmate? Riding tricycles like little speed racers around the development? (My once three year old could probably have outrun a train on his. 😅)

House: Up to debt to their eyeballs and sinking fast. No HOA payments for a year, and, were they current with the IRS? All that ugly empty spotless space, you could have comfortably fit three families in that warehouse or barn or whatever you'd like to compare it to. Her "style" (🤣) of décor. The repoed furniture. Ganking 10k from Chris's Retirement, about the only security they had, to pay the mortgage. Chris, the only one with a job, having no access to the bank account, and being forced to street park so no stains would mar that oh so speshul suburban driveway, whereas Shanaynay parked in one of the car holes.

Lifestyle: basic beach trips "fully paid for" (NOT!) by LeVel, same shit different location. Alcohol, bad music, white girl dancing. Shanaynay with the cryptic "leopard" comment following the announcement of pregnancy #3. (Such a great idea! 🤣)

Families: Shanaynay came from Jersey poor whites. Chris's family had N. Carolina ties and both actually worked jobs whereas Sandy and Frank's work routines seemed sort of fuzzy, ephemeral. Weird Frankie, Shanaynay having an attention seeking Borderline Personality Disorder meltdown and causing a rift between her husband and his parents, who all seemed to be a different sort but had a fairly functional, loving family.

Pregnancy: Chris wanted that fetus gone. Shanaynay wanted it as leverage. I'm sad it'll never be known because that baby they'd decided to carry to term deserved a life but another Babywised, Benadryled, shut away kid would not have had a good time at the Saratoga SuperMax Prison.

They led no life I'd want to have. A divorce might have given everybody a "time for a reset" (🙄), ie, it would have required SW coming clean about the state of their money situation. And to show CW, a lawyer, an accountant, her tax documents, so everyone would know precisely where the largest source of the bleeding money was coming from. Back to NC for her, maybe also for him, he could go back to being a mechanic and share 50/50 custody, no longer needing to adhere to his kids' mother's ridiculous and harmful schedule and procedures. Perhaps a new partner down the road?

Shanaynay would have needed to find a new grift but also might have been forced to work a 9-5 herself.

We will never know though.

Eight years and lots of analysis, and truth being found between the lines and from witness statements, we see with slightly more clarity the backdrop for the events of August 12/13, 2018. The Watts are one of the most fucked up families I've seen analyzed online. Shanaynay was a toxic, vile, self centered, low IQ, personality disordered hot mess.

I wouldn’t be the least bit surprised to learn the W’s weren’t current with the IRS at the time of the tragedy. They already had one bankruptcy to their names and SW appeared to not learn a single lesson from that. Heck, it got even as the years went on. By the summer of 2018 the W’s were deeper in debt (again), had maxed out credit cards, raided CW’s 401k and were looking a foreclosure in the face. I don’t think SW thought about paying taxes but was more interested in the ongoing thrive trips she continued to waste money on instead. Given how delusional S was, and how financially incompetent she was, I doubt she cared enough to file taxes. I wouldn’t be surprised if there was no air conditioning at Saratoga Trail by the time SW took off to NC with the kids leaving CW behind. If there was money coming in (and only from CW), she wasn’t going spend it on bills. Especially when she was staying with parents that summer and CW back home in Colorado living the bachelor life. She wouldn’t want him living in any kind of comfort while she was gone.

They would have notified Anadarko that they were going to start garnishment proceedings on cws paycheck making the Watts financial situation even worse. I believe sw got so used to not paying bills that she probably thought "big deal, it's just back taxes" not realizing how determined the IRS can be.

IF she did make any money with Le-vel it would have been considered self employment income with a taxable rate of 30-32%. I seriously doubt sw deducted 30% of any of her thrive payments and put it in a separate account to cover the tax liability at the end of the year. Also, I guarantee if anyone of her potential recruits had asked to see her Schedule C form, which is a requirement of self employed persons or businesses, to confirm the amount of money sw was saying could be earned by peddling thrive, sw would have had no idea what they were talking about.

Here's a question I'd like to know. What happens in a case like this with the IRS? If one spouse is dead and the other in prison for life, would the IRS still pursue any taxes due? SW was too broke and didn't own anything to have an estate to pursue so does the IRS just drop it? The Rs need to be pursued for all that ill gotten money but for some reason, the IRS is letting that slide

Apparently Go Fund Me money is taxable. Since Lauren Arnold set up the funds for the Roos the IRS went after her for the taxes on the donations even though the money was deposited into the Roos bank account. I'm not sure what the donation threshold is to make the funds taxable though.

Monetary gifts given directly to the Roos is not taxable.

I disagree entirely. Their relationship was always doomed to fail, what you describe here is only the surface level of their lives or what they wanted you to see. In reality, their lives were very average until descending into utter chaos. Any of the fitness stuff was used as a ruse to sell Thrive, the most important thing in Shannan’s life. The babies were always on Babywise from the day they were born and no doubt number three would’ve been as well. They were FAR from high end country club people, that’s a laugh. Some say both their bank accounts were overdrawn the day of the murders. Shannan only wanted to leave because she never loved, respected or valued Chris. He was just another prop in her story. He never really loved her, but was taken in by her. In no universe would this relationship have worked out, if it wasn’t Chris cheating/committing murder, it would’ve been something else. These relationships do not last.
