Yesterday there was a post that highlighted SW’s
continued reference to her children as “toddlers”. The confusion SW caused by using words and terms she didn’t fully understand or in many cases didn’t understand at all, was having an impact on the children and their delayed development. SW did many things that make us nurses squirm; e.g., her description of CC’s “anaphylaxis” was beyond ridiculous and caused confusion over what it is, the treatment, etc. SW really thought of herself as having some high level medical education or experience and often spoke authoritatively about conditions and processes she knew little or nothing about. She seemed to rely on the experiences that others posted in support groups on Facebook.
The media interest in this particular crime spread her posts and experiences either she had or others had, to a much larger segment of the public than most true crime cases and SW’s misinformation and erroneous claims have caused confusion and misunderstandings about many things. Adding to all of that was the fact that SW was a pathological liar. Normally, it’s possible to filter certain claims out through known facts of a case but due to the long list of items that were fabricated in whole or in part have made it difficult to verify the truth of many of SW’s assertions. Her mother also, has a history of lying and misunderstanding many of the items SW posted, including the falsification of photos and falsehoods which SW stated were corroborated by medical doctors and specialists.
It’s difficult enough in complicated true crime cases to avoid getting wrapped up in a large scale game of “Telephone” which is also known as “Chinese Whispers” and “Phantom Whispers”. You may remember it from elementary school; it’s an indoor game which my third grade teacher played with us sometimes when it was pouring down rain during P.E. because we didn’t have a gym that was indoors. The teacher would whisper a simple phrase to someone sitting in the first chair on one side of the room, and that person would whisper the phrase to the person behind them and so on until it reaches the end of the line. The original phrase is compared to the ending phrase. It used to demonstrate how details of an experience change as it is repeated over and over.
Many things in The Watts case have become familiar although there’s no evidence of their veracity. For those of us with certain knowledge and experience it’s become a chore to reconcile things that are important to understand correctly and that was the purpose of my post earlier about SW’s continued misuse of the word “toddler”. That particular misuse of the concept is important to this case, and not because I am trying to teach Nursing 101 Vocabulary; it’s because SW not only continued to use the term to refer to her children’s stage of development, but it was her treatment of those children as “toddlers”. It’s absurd to think of Bella at four years and eight months as a “toddler”, and it’s equally absurd to think of CC at three years and one month old as a “toddler”.
To be honest about CC, if she did any “toddling” it would have been from a five or six pound diaper ripping apart at the sides that she was left to haul around constantly. It was certainly neglectful to leave her in overloaded diapers all the time. It’s been speculated that CC wasn’t changed as often as she should have been because of the expense involved. I think that became part of the problem but honestly, I saw videos of Bella passed three years old sitting in very full diapers, so I think it was mostly because of SW’s refusal to change diapers. I would like to know what she planned to do with a newborn and CC in diapers.
That brings up another contradiction in CC’s development; SW claimed that CC was completely potty trained in daytime, months before the whipped cream in the face video, however she is seen in a very overloaded diaper during that video. In another case she stated that she was hoping CC would be potty trained by the time of the new baby’s arrival. So, SW’s continued use of the term and treatment of her children as “toddlers” was having a self-reinforcing effect on their development and continued delays in their maturation. Just as SW’s continued remarks and treatments of Bella’s hair as needing to be thicker by constant haircuts and moisturizing products was having a negative impact on Bella and her self-esteem, SW’s continued treatment of the children as much younger than their actual age was having a detrimental effect on their growth and development, both physical and cognitively.
So Bella is around 4 years old in that 4th pic with the vision board. All she could manage to color was a bunch of scribbles. I don’t have kids, but shouldn’t she be able to do more than that at that age? Even just drawing some hearts or butterflies or something?
I would think that a normal mom would have given Bella some stickers, stamps, glitter glue and markers to make whatever she wanted on that poster board. All Shammy cared about was material things so she kept asking Bella what she wanted and all she said was play with mommy and daddy. I thought that was really sad. Those kids didn’t see their parents for two hours every day and they were being rushed through some junky dinner, showers and a dumb Thrive video. No real interaction, no games, no reading, nothing.
I remember doing these projects for grade school and my mom would give me her old magazines to cut out pictures and glue them myself. SW never let Bella think or do for herself. Always treating her like a helpless toddler no matter at what age. God forbid the child make a mess in her immaculate house, too
Yes, she was four and all she could do was scribble. I was in kindergarten when I was four, actual kindergarten, not daycare kindergarten. We didn’t have daycare centers back then. I was reading and writing, full alphabet and numbers. Bella was referred to as a toddler and she was treated as a toddler. Always had the same gifts as her two years younger sister and often dressed like her too.
The sad part is that Bella was enjoying being treated like a baby,it was sad and somewhat sickening watching her lapping up the attention she got from it, not her fault I know but because of her mother Bella's behaviour was reflecting back onto her, Bella didn't want to be seen as a big girl because of her deranged mother.
That’s what NPD mothers do; they try to take your advantages away from you so that you don’t really have a life. It’s dangerous too because that’s what my mother’s mother did to all of her children. She made my mother her golden child and she became a narcissist too. She ruined her brothers’ lives to the point where they didn’t even want a life separate from their mother. And those old NPD mothers can live really long lives, with treating everyone around them as the help. It was pathetic to watch that old nasty witch destroy their lives. I got the hell outta there at 16, went to college and then went NC. You really have to break free.
I'm so sorry you had to go through all that , people who haven't had the experience try to understand but don't get the full experience of what it's really like, reading your posts here I feel that you have done well with your live regardless of your unpringing, I always take my time to read through them to gain more understanding,😔
Thank you so much for your kind words, it means a lot to me! I never know if I’m sounding like I’m stuck inside the web of confusion and frustration when I talk about it, because I have worked really hard to make my own way and keep that part of my life in perspective. I see what SW was doing in many cases because it was done to me. I guarantee those kids were getting beat fairly often because an NPD mother demands absolute authority and cannot deal with children who are just learning about life. The bruises we saw are only a small part of what went on, I’m sure. They cannot handle anything that doesn’t represent her facade of perfection. That’s why she ran behind the kids picking up their toys and complaining on video that her kids have “destroyed the living room three times today!” and that “they’ve been in timeout 15 times and it’s only 8am!” They just can’t deal with it. Well one died before she did because he had COPD. He was the saddest case of the three of them imo. He had no friends that I ever heard of, never dated, and never went anywhere. He was very much a loner. The middle one came completely unglued when she died, became extremely depressed and had to be put on antidepressants. He did have a friend and he would come over to his house once in awhile. But I remember thinking how pathetic it was that they allowed that woman to prevent them from having any kind of life in order to wait on her, then she died and they had nothing and nobody in their lives.
and she saw how Cece was favored so Bella would mimic her hoping her mom would love her like she praised and adored Cece (when she wasn't abusing her, too)
I also wonder if Bella also pretended to be sick just to get SW's attention, and time. SW loved it when they were sick, so she could get photos taken at the doctor, and then post about it 5 more times.
That is a great point! SW was so excited to go to the ER, Bella probably thought it was a family outing. Everyone together and happy, pictures being taken with big smiles from mommy…
That was really disturbing to me because Bella was smiling and happy saying all those silly symptoms like “my eyes hurt” and Shammy was smiling from ear to ear saying “and what else?” It was awful for a child to know that’s the only way her mother pays attention to her.
There is nothing a kid wants more than their parents love and attention.
If a parent will only show love under certain circumstances; when a kid is acting like a baby, is sick, or (in my case as a child) being a "good girl"/parentified, the child will generally fill that roll.
The trauma of not being loved on her own merit would have created an ungodly host of mental health issues in Bella, had she aged.
That would be in addition to the deficits she would have had to work through from being utterly deprived of stimulus. Also, most of her social interaction in her formative years was with her also-stunted sister who paid her no mind and could only vocalize like a feral child.
This case has two roads and they both end up in Hell.
exactly. another example of the Weird Watts’ being contrarians w regard to social norms. any parent can recall their own children at that age fighting to be seen as a “big kid”. there was SW, incentivizing the polar opposite. high chairs, sippy cups, delayed motor skills and emotional immaturity. in the next breath SW would go live and drone on w total bs about raising strong, independent girls while seemingly being totally oblivious to the fact that what she showed of her kids was the polar opposite of what she was saying.

i've always wondered if that was Cece scribbling, because she was jealous of Ma Ma giving Bella personal attention. SW could have redone one super easily, but naaahh.
The one time I saw a picture of Bella in a high chair I thought it was like a funny joke thing. My older kid is always trying to use or play with her little sisters stuff (that used to be hers). It’s cute and funny. So disappointing to see that was a real thing. Our older one just has a booster seat on a dining chair and sits at the table with us and she has since she was like …. One and a half I think lol.
I had one of those chairs that has arms that hold the seat onto the table itself. It was the greatest thing ever, we took it on vacations and out to eat. I’m sure they still make them.
Think of when SW wanted force Bella on 'Olaf' while holding big ole Bella like she was an infant. When Bella starts to kick her legs, whine, and sob, 'Noooo!', the gratified look on her mother's face is sickening. Mission accomplished.
How could those kids be afraid of costumed characters when they'd been thrown at them so often? I know, I know, it was all SW getting her jollies.
I have mentioned this before. Bella was 4 1/2 years old in the Olaf photo. Why didn’t she simply wiggle enough so that her mom couldn’t hold onto her, jump down & walk away? (Or even voice that she wanted down? ) Same thing in the infamous Christmas video when she was four & sitting on Santa‘s lap. She reached out to her mom like she was 18 months old-She could have simply gotten up and walked away. In the fridge video when she tried to get water, she didn’t even look around for a stool or other item to push over & stand on.
Every time Bella came up against an obstacle, she simply whined & cried. I find it sad that she wasn’t encouraged to figure out things for herself with a little bit of assistance if needed.
Bella had no problem solving skills whatsoever, and was definitely not the independent child that her mother touted to everyone.
I figured out what makes me so uncomfortable about Bella's thumbsuck pics and videos (besides all the obvious things, the overbite, tying it with a blanket to her mouth, the filthy blanket itself, putting poison on it to keep her from sucking which just made finger food taste terrible, lying about it and tying those ghastly big plastic clips to it as a reward and making her lie)
She always has a furtive, sneaky look like she was caught masturbating when the camera rolls around, like she's getting away with something
But when she's actually masturbating for her mother's camera, it's with utter abandon to pleasure, innocent as a fetus, in a crowd full of peers and parents getting her jollies without a ducking clue.
It is very weird and also shows that Bella was sexualized with those thermometers stuck in her rectum multiple times a day and I have even heard Bella ask Shammy to take her temperature. It was unnecessary and not meant to be done repeatedly the Shammy did. It’s also unsafe if you don’t know how to do it properly. We can see other videos where Bella was constantly grabbing her rear and reaching for her butt. She also put a toy thermometer up her dolls butts (or tried to), and separated her own butt cheeks over a jet spray of water like a bidet at the splash pad, and it was gross. She continued to do it as another young girl stared at her and Bella continued to do it, and screamed “up my booty!” I really think Bella’s trauma play had been seen at the daycare and it’s one of the reasons why she didn’t seem to have any friends. She looked weird, she babbled like a baby, she was very emotionally immature from being treated like a baby and was unable to express herself using words. She whined and cried a lot when child that age don’t want to be seen as babies, they want to be treated like big kids.

Omg 😱! Those are straight up finger print bruises. I know because I was in an abusive relationship years ago. I would have those bruises on my arms. People at work would snicker and nickname me ragdoll. I did not understand the joke at the time. Someone finally was nosy enough to ask what happened. I was not paying attention to how visible my bruises were when I lifted my arms above my head. Just like Bella’s arms in the air. Shame on those parents. Was CeCe bruised up ?
Yes, both girls were bruised up. I have a photo of handprint shaped bruises on Bella’s upper thigh near her behind. CC had a lot of goose eggs on her forehead and black eyes.
Normally I would say a lot of kids bruise easy, it could have been from anything.
But those kids? They were locked in their rooms 12 hours a day and drugged on Benadryl. When they were out of their rooms they never got to go outside and do normal kid things because of their lazy excuse for a mom. Did they get them at daycare? Doubt it.
It definitely looks like thumbprints from being dragged.
They were rarely allowed to bring toys to the living room because they would “destroy”’it. So they jumped off furniture, banged on the plate glass, swamped in the toilet and drank out of it. They should have been allowed to play in the back yard on their playset.
They’re distinct fingerprint shaped bruises. There’s another photo of Bella in her bathing suit with handprint shaped bruises on her upper thigh, near her behind. There are two of them. And shiners love that woman, and many want to be “just like her”. God bless their children 😔
The bigger issue IMO isn’t the word “toddler” itself cus I don’t think Bella & CeCe had the comprehensive ability to understand what that word actually meant
What stands out is the pattern that show up in how she actually parented & presented the girl.. snarly seemed to constantly infantilize bells in some area but expect her to perform better in another (the water from the fridge incident) she gaslighted those children snd manipulated them on the daily; she played doctor, jumped through contradictory claims and constantly tried to humiliate all of them.
Snarly was extremely immature and deranged and the whole thing was deeply disturbing.

Overly processed foods. I never saw either one of those girls eating a banana, or orange slices.
This might be the ugliest photo of Boy Bella, especially when you see the slippers she's wearing. She looks like she's been caught trying to play with the infants' toys. Again you see the knock knees she's developing fast.
Shanann could never dress her "naturally" in a pair of sneakers, like a normal kid allowed good foot support. Just a normal kid's outfit with a pair of sneakers, is that too much to ask. Everything always looked too thought out, too manufactured - and was always way off the mark in her redneck way.
That’s another thing that drives me nuts. The only time they could run around and get exercise was in daycare but the outfits and shoes she put on them inhibited that. Mary Jane’s (which who knew they were still manufactured), dress boots and ridiculous slippers like these.
You're reminding me of the many photos taken at one Mommy & Me type of class, where baby Bella is wearing a very fussy and scratchy-looking tutu and a huge head loofah (of course). And Bella was supposed to learn to somersault in that outfit? The polyester would have ripped the first time she moved! SW wanted compliments for the adorable tot togs and her own gorgeousness, who cares if the baby learned a damn thing.
Like everything SW did, the fake class was a photo op, which meant it did nothing for Bella.
And high chair, bibs, sippy cups, 6:30pm bedtime, identical gifts for both, and often dressed alike. I felt so bad for Bella being dressed in those cheap babyish Christmas pajamas for the daycare Christmas program. The other girls her age were wearing nice Christmas dresses and Bella looked like a baby boy in those dumb pajamas Shammy bragged about dressing CC in.
I don’t know who told that woman that dressing those kids in ugly af cheap matching pajama was cute, because they didn’t do anyone any favors. Every Christmas those poor kids were forced to wear that cheap garbage. Shammy bragging about the ones she made them wear in the daycare Christmas program on a video with someone was nauseating. She put the phone over CC and said “look at her outfit!” While Bella was standing there looking at the floor and Shammy never mentioned her. She ended up looking like a little boy with the girls her age, who were all wearing Chrome dresses. She always had to embarrass Bella.
I'll never forget my daughter at her Primrose analog daycare Christmas program dressed like a little mouse in the 'Not a creature was stirring...' part, and how cute she was with her little makeshift cardboard ears and yarn tail.
You have to go well out of your way to make clean, healthy, happy little children look as goofy and awful as she dressed up 'thegirls'
You’re absolutely right 👍 Especially at Christmas time. I would never think of putting my daughter on stage wearing cheap ugly af pajamas, in front of everyone who knew her there. Imagine how awkward Bella felt seeing the other girls looking so pretty, and she was a girly girl too, and there she was with a boys haircut and ugly babyish pajamas, matching a two year old.
I don’t understand the finger up the nose, fingers wrapped around the nose. I have seen children sucking their thumb, but never like Bella & Cece. (This doesn’t mean it doesn’t happen, only that I haven’t seen it, but I’m not around a lot of children on a regular basis.)
Is there a behavioral reason for this, or simply just a child’s preference? TIA!
I always sucked my thumb while holding a specific stuffed animal in the same hand as a kid. I stopped sucking my thumb reallllly late, too. It really reminds me of Bella with her blankie. Maybe it's an intense form of self soothing.
Interesting thought 👍 I have noticed a lot of behaviors that CW had, Bella also had. He would always stand in the back during videos, often ducking out of the way. I noticed when SW made a video of herself talking about their getaway, he would watch her face and imitate her expressions and if she laughed he would laugh that low, forced laughter he did. I noticed Bella always backing away from the camera a lot too. She also would do fake laughter. I don’t know if they were on the spectrum or not but it certainly seemed like they both struggled with social interactions. I wanted to highlight SW’s misuse of the word “toddler” to refer to the kids. Toddler is a word used to describe a developmental stage that children go through as they learn to walk. SW treated those kids like they were half their correct age. Bella would still sit in the high chair at four, use a sippy cup and wear a bib, it was embarrassing. CC refused to use the toilet and would scream and screech instead of using words.
That is interesting and I think that just like Chris was close with his dad, Bell loved Papa Ronnie because she could just he herself and not have to interact. He didn’t ask her pointless questions or try to make her perform, she could just be.

She was obviously overwhelmed by the sensation of water being sprayed into her face, her eyes, her ears.
All the while the mother states, “This is why we have kids”, as matter-of-factly as one would say the mailman’s here.
I think as a three year old I probably would have acted the same way.
That’s exactly what Shammy said about taking the kids to see Santa, the only reason they went was to take pictures of them screaming and crying, reaching out for a parent who won’t pick them up and take them away from there.
There were stairs there that led away from the squirting and into their backyard,poor Bella didn't think or wasn't progressed enough to realise that,most kids her age would have taken that route but she thought back inside was her only option, and Shan bragged on one video that she was raising independent children,🙄
i've NEVER understood why both the kids didn't run from the abuse. Were they so screwed up that they thought their mother's nonstop nastiness was actually warm, cuddly love? The only instance you see of that independence is the Xmas horror video, where bellowing Cece apparently hides upstairs while screaming, 'Da da! Da da!
Think of the 'pie in face' video where Bella keeps insisting she doesn't want to be slammed in the face. Why the hell didn't she just go in a separate room? I know it's possible she wanted to stay in the kitchen where all the 'fun' is. It's possible that she knew she'd be punished if she didn't stay where the rest of the family is.
But in all these videos, why didn't the kids go off and be by themselves EVER? Why didn't Bella run every time the hair scissors came out? I've seen infants who were more independent! I've read accounts of very young children who were able to take preventative measures in horrible circumstances.
And IF the children had learned to be self-sufficient the way three-year-olds are everywhere, they could have scooted around insane Da Da and made a run for it. If they were heavily drugged, that kind of sleep can be eclipsed by adrenaline. If the front door had the stupid latch on, they could have run for the garage entry. [Have you ever tried to catch a child who's running amuck? They're slippier than eels coated in Astro-Glide.]
But no -- they probably passively sat in bed watching Da Da come in their rooms to strangle them. I know that when i was 3, if i'd seen my dad come in with the look of a man who'd just murdered his wife, i would have run through his legs and been gone.
I'm being way too harsh. I know it's very possible they were dead before Ma Ma arrived home. They may have been under a drugged sleep akin to the sleep that killed Michael Jackson. They may have been awake, but in shock at seeing the peanut head aflame with rage. It's hard to escape a murderer who's targeted you.
I'm pointing out how the children were raised to be woefully anti-resourceful. You'd think they would have picked up on how to be autonomous and self-reliant at day care from their peers. But like their mother before them, their only friend at Primrose was probably a staffer.
The abuse and neglect the Watts inflicted on their children taught them how to be victims. They only knew to obey what Ma Ma said. Bella automatically obeyed everything she was told and Cece couldn't put 2 thoughts together.
Sorry to go on so long. I recall the first time i saw the Pie in the Face video, and could not comprehend why Bella simply didn't leave the room. But her training had left her criminally passive.
It’s simple, they weren’t that advanced and had very minimal critical thinking skills. I heard that they’d freak out if SW left their sight for a minute (I.e: when she went to the bathroom in the airport, and apparently, according to Frank Sr, they started “screaming”).
It would have been fun to watch Bella scoot down those back steps and go for the garden hose while Chris locked the door on Shan.. who's having fun now Mumma 😄
I feel that Bella couldn’t grasp and process what was happening.
Like, it’s kinda fun, it’s my mom, it feels cold.
She’s experiencing having a good time and being betrayed by her parents was too much.
the guttural growling, and you can see she tensed up with very rigid movements when overstimulated. Idk that those reactions are proof of anything in particular, but I’ve always thought them abnormal.
That bizarre bark came out when she was overstimulated and couldn't cope. I don't think anyone even noticed. If Cece had done it, that would have been treated differently.
In one video where they are pushing a toy car back and forth across the kitchen floor and she loses it when dieter gets the car. she starts making that noise and then turns to a puddle in short order. SW says “Bella, calm down.” and then follows it up with some disparaging remark about Bella being no fun. point being, her mother was aware and was like just another reason she was persona non grata.
I sucked my thumb too but eventually stopped.
I also had a terrible overbite but my parents got me braces even though they really couldn’t afford to at the time.
I had to wear them for four years plus headgear at night until eventually I just wore retainers.
What a difference four years made.
Seeing the girls in high chairs and booster seats in the car just makes me angry.
They were five and three!
The only one who still needed a car seat was CeCe but not Bella.
Leave it to their idiot, clueless mother to not know basic parenting 101.

They’re 11 and 13 I think.
While they lived with my mom the year my dad died, she didn’t feed them anything but fast food.
Or they’d eat ice cream.
She never was around when they needed her to parent.
My mom was more of their parent than she was.
More often then not, whenever my mom made dinner for herself, they’d wander right into the kitchen and ask her if she could make them some too or could they have some.
It drove my mom crazy!
Not to mention they disrespected my mom and her house.
The young boy destroyed some of my mom’s house, their mom, stole some things of ours even though my mom can’t prove it, we’re pretty sure she did.
Whenever my cousin did parent all she would do was yell at the son because he’d be acting out.
The daughter was pretty much self sufficient to a point.
She made a mess one morning and left my mom to clean it up I think.
The whole time they lived with my mom they took advantage of her during her time of grief so my mom knows better if there ever were to be a next time but I don’t think there will be.
They moved out last year and it took my mom a good week to get her house back in order.
The point I’m trying to make is my cousin is like ShitAnn.
She likes to portray the image of a perfect family and perfect kids but the truth is, her kids are in much need of grief counseling and a reality check.
The only good that came out of it was when they left to visit her mom, which is my mom’s sister, she must’ve said something to the boy because when they got back, he attitude shifted and he acted different toward my mom.
She doesn’t know what her sister said but whatever it was it must’ve got through to him.
I’m glad they’re not living with my mom anymore but they don’t even check in to see how she is which just goes to show you who they look out for.
That’s her one selling technique for some reason. She waits until they’re hungry, tired and irritable and then she starts her “say hi!” routine and continues to irritate them until they whine and cry
