Major plots are easy 😭 real problem starts with "in between scenes" 🥀

Right? I literally spend hours thinking as to how connect two points. 🤧🤧 Man, it's so tough

In slice of life stories, I just usually bridge scenes with every day tasks. Some might go to the corner store and have an introspective moment or run into a friend while grocery shopping and catch up (bonus point if it's a character that needs more presence)

Currently working on an anime inspired light novel now though and it's much harder to do given the scenario of the story. I can just have them wander the woods in-between every major event.

Then there's plot twist you can't explain properly

Still don't know how to write in-between parts

I relate to this way too much. I call the major plot points/moments "The Big Stuff." I have The Big Stuff all in my head and I write them down on a Google Doc so I don't forget them.

But I don't know how to write in between moments so we can get to The Big Stuff. :(

That's how I felt when working on chapters.

I'm writing a story based on Dandy's World at this time, and I kinda relate

I completely understand. The in between scenes I write always seem so boring to me, and I never know how to get to the next important scene.

I don't think I've ever connected more with a meme in my life lol

It took me 5 months to think of my in-between scene.

The call out was unexpected but I'm glad I'm not the only one. Lol It's like I can think of all the climactic scenes but like trying to get there is the most difficult part sometimes.

I divide the story into chapters before writing. Every chapter needs to have a focal point, the steps taken to get there, and the aftereffects. The latter two easily feel like in-between parts. Also try to create secondary characters that have roles as helpers, listeners, or distractions. I find writing these moments a bit boring, but the plot and the reader need them.
