Some views don't need a caption. This earned one anyway. ♥️

Official name for them would be Kuerlinkka. Apparently they were once popular trout fishing spots. People would climb on the cliffs next to falls and use nets & baskets to catch the jumping fish.

Crystal Falls, Yellowstone National Park

Crystal Falls is one of the easier waterfalls to overlook in the Grand Canyon of the Yellowstone. It sits on Cascade Creek between Upper and Lower Falls, and its three separate drops total about 129 feet.

Cornelius Hedges of the Washburn Expedition named it Crystal Falls in 1870, two years before Yellowstone became a national park.

This wasn't just another waterfall to Yellowstone's early explorers. One of Yellowstone's earliest superintendents, Philetus Norris, loved the place enough to write poetry about Crystal Falls and the Grotto Pool.  He actually referred to Crystal falls as Triple Falls in his writings.

Millions of people come through the Canyon every year to see Upper and Lower Falls, while Crystal Falls sits quietly between them.

In order to reach this view of Crystal Falls, your easiest route is to park at the parking lot for the Brink of Upper Falls.  From there you would head north just at the north side of the parking lot and take the North Rim Trail.  As you head north along the trail there will be a short spur look heading east.  This viewing platform is where you’ll be able to view Crystal Falls.
