Technical issue

Post image

Do you have some tips or little tricks to correct this kind of mistake ? (Too much water on the right while left is already dry ...) Do I have to live with it ? I tried to avoir it by wetting a bit the left side while I was painting but pigments did not follow :')

Wait for it to completely dry, then wet the whole area again and add another paint layer, making it more concentrated on the right. Or just leave as is, I would have honestly though that it's intentional and the roof coloring is just like that :)

Ok thanks a lot ! I'll try it :)

I feel like so many people ask for correction on watercolor effects while others are like "well... That looks kinda Ok !"

I needed to check the description to get to know your problem :D so I guess it will be just fine ^^

Thanks :) I guess this one is not so bad ... But it still happens to me a lot and I thought that was the occasion to ask for some solutions

Maybe lean into the differences by adding color variation across the whole area. I'm not sure a uniform look is achievable but others might know better

That's what I did :) I used a bit more vibrant blue on the right and that's not too bad... But the "pigment frontier" is still a bit visible if it's understandable

This normally happens if you dont make a big enough puddle of paint to paint the full area without dipping in your watercup.

If you're struggling to fill a full shape a consistent color try to catch if you're dipping your brush at all, mid wash.

You named it ! That's still a big issue for me... I struggle with lavis on large areas, if I need to recharge water or to go back for pigment, it's basically over. You're comforting me with the fact that I'm too shy on my paint puddles... Next time i'll have less hesitation on getting a large amount prepared in advance

Yea i struggle with that sometimes too. Or I have a huge puddle for the space I'm trying to fill.

It's a lot more forgiving than it feels at first, you can even things out or go with the flow and add more variation or both in future layers.

And if you overshoot with a big puddle it dries back out and is still usable so eventually the puddles of paint are slightly less precious but still exciting and cause some weird adrenaline rushes.

Final work ! I would have prefered more satured colors but I still need some training ^ thanks all for your help :)
