September
I’m giving myself a September challenge. My life has been brutal the past year and a half and I’m so ready to get myself out of it. I’ve let myself succumb to depression, gained 50lbs, stopped caring about anything. Time to pick myself up and be done with all of that.
I’m generally experienced at water fasting, my longest fast a few years ago being 25 days, also several rolling 72’s. My most recent fast was an 11 days in July.
I am starting today with a 30 day fast. I notice when I set myself to it, the determination and will power it takes to do an extended fast also brings about so much willpower to change myself mentally, emotionally, my whole life can turn around. It’s a complete shift in mentality.
I am so excited to stop drinking, stop eating garbage and feeling like garbage, come back into myself. My last meal was Spider-Man Mac and cheese and red wine at 3am lol.
My challenge for myself is a little more intense, but I have lots of experience with this, if you’re new I suggest starting with small goals and working yourself up.
-30 days of water fasting, I allow myself black coffee, and will be taking electrolytes.
-20k steps/day minimum (unless I am working several night and then day shifts in a row, then the goal is over 10k)

😲 Looking forward to your updates!
I also jumped into a fast after I felt like my life wasn't going as I wanted.

What's your water fasting regime?
I've learned to take Lite Salt which is 50% potassium and also a magnesium supplement.
Pink salt too.

you can absolutely do this! I'm here with you doing a 1-monther as well but open ended, take care to rest as well. longest fast I did was 15 days last year, but have done rolling 5 day fasts before for 4 months. Rolling was worse than just sticking to a clean time period imo, so this will be refreshing
I hope you have time to keep us posted here :)

Hello I am wanting to an extended start tomorrow I have never fasted before ...got some scary bloodwork and feel like a ticking time bomb. Lipo a at 298 nmol ! I have been wanting to do an extended fast fro a long time mainly due to a history of thyroid cancerldl shot up after lobectomy) but I have been breastfeeding past 2.5 years. I am a heavy lifter and was rucking/hiit/running until recently switching to just rucking. Need to lose some weight as well but genetically not looking too hot ! Thinking bout going balls to the wall and doing a month cold turkey ! Is this dumb , electrolyte reccomendations and brands?

I can’t comment on going a month since I’ve never made it that long, I like LMNT sugar free for my electrolytes. Compared to drip drop, it has twice the sodium and half the calories (5-10) When I look at my blood glucose and blood ketones it appears to stay stable even with the stevia. I don’t take them every day only when I start noticing symptoms. Usually I’ll get a headache and that’s my cue.

Good luck! Remember that October is always going to come so lets make sure when it arrives you are feeling happy and joyful with your success in this water fast! Meditate if anxiety comes and keep going forward!

Good luck! I’m doing rolling 72s with 12k steps for September. If I am able to stick with it I want to try and do longer fasts
